Ive found a prop that works well on my boat but I dont know why. 3 blade cleaver 17x30. The leading edge of the prop has a section thats cut straight and cupped. Whats that all about? Came from an ARNESON drive. Did I forget to mention that I had to give it back and its not for sale. Whats the theory behind it and who made it. Any takers.

It sounds like what we down south call a Texas cut. The theory is to reduce blade area to increase RPM and in the process of removing the leading edge you add pitch to the wheel. With cup added to the leading edge it helps on low end and midrange. would have liked to see the prop.

You don't have to pay to join and read OSO, but you do have to pay to see pics on OSO. I am registered on OSO, but am not a paying OSO member .... I cannot see pics even when I log in to OSO ... all I get is a message that says my OSO membership must be upgraded by paying in order to see pics.
