I can't find the original photo that my dad has, but here are two scanned images of #31, a wooden SeaCraft Offshore Raceboat that my father raced in the mid 60's in the 1st Bahama 500 Race. The photo is from a Miami-Nassau race.

Was a great guy. He was probably my very first Mercury Outboard & Performance boat inspiration, because of Brown & Hauptner Marine at the PGA bridge, in the 60's. Very sorry for your loss.

May he rest in peace.
Any chance of posting some family history. Hauptner was a partners? Mark???? Didn't Hauptner build some wooden V Hulls???
I always wanted to race the Bahamas 500! The stories Bob Nordskog and Bill Cooper told made it sound so cool!

Mark was an employee of my my father's, and later a partner in business "Brown & Hauptner Marine".
Mark and his father Ed built "Hauptner Crafts". I think they built both tunnel hulls and they built a Wooden V Bottom that later became the HydroStream Vixen: http://www.hydrostream.org/Specific%20Models/Vixen.htm
Mark still builds a boat that my father and he started in 1975'ish "Ocean Master"
