not sure if this post fits this website, im just a lakeboater but i have to brag a little about the 5 blade 28 drag type i got new from RON HILL. its the only wheel that does everything good on my rig. great overall lift, which helps with weight, holeshot, topend is as good as any with the 200, very seldom do i pull skiers or kneeboards, but when i do, it will jerk them up quick and not slip and stall like choppers do with a high motor mount. best top speed so far is 81 the first time out. i just ran out of summer. thats not that fast by todays hotrods, but with stock power and 1600 lbs of mod tunnel, its a start. great props.. :)

I didn't answer this earlier, as I don't want this web site to be a billboard for my props...

Having said that, my five blade Yamaha Style wheels seems to be working really well. I only made, maybe 20 last year, but have a hundred in the works for 2005.

I will have them in 22, 24, 26, 28, 30 and 32.....and as usual, Custom sizes...

Maybe, I should go for a six blade....

ADD: You can call me Ron. My students call me Mr. Hill but, I've been retired for a year as of June 2005. Time flys when you got posting to do!!!!

Set me up with a prop. Boat is a 20' true tunnel, 280hp BP, Offshore mid, Sportmaster lower, 1:86 gears,14" setback,Hull weighs in at 1500#. I am tired of guessing what will work. Can you guess for me? Thanks

Well, what props have your tried? This E-Bay listing of mine might be good!!!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=4571679221&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT

I don't guess what prop will work, anymore. I sell wheels everyday, thank the LORD, but I really like E-bay because, guys can GUESS what they want, buy it, and if it doesn't work, they can sell it on Screamandfly.com at a profit, usually...or they can list it on E-Bay and get their money back or come close...

TRUE TUNNELS AIN'T easy to prop...Too much wheel, it never "TUNNELS", too small and all you get is RPM... This ET STYLE has been really getting good press and not just from me!!! I've actually sold a mess of them suckers... with NO COMPLAINTS!!!!!

This two props are ET SYLYES...24 pitch and 28... (Both sold)...

I really don't have many finished props right now. I do, however, have tons of castings....I just getting my shop organized...Still need more racks for my small props and Vee Drive Props...

Ron, I see your name on here now and then...Glad you are a member. Actually, I was going to Brinkman's (Grass Lake Race) to see what blanks Vic had.

As David L. said, "He likes low rake clavers." All my big diameter stuff is 45, and they are all HIGH RAKE. I've actually spent a ton of money on molds that I don't do any real numbers. The ET style, fits about every Mercury V-6 in the WORLD and their is really a ton of them out there.

The ET Cut is what I called a "CLEAPER" in the OLD DAYS... I am making a "PLUG" for a 8 X 13 Four Blade High Rake Cleaver....I could "ET CUT" it....Like my old "CLEAPERS"...probably work good...Keep an eye out on E-Bay because that is where I'd sell them first...

Pretty cool liking piece though, ain't it???

How's your brother BOB??? Do you see Pat Filkill anymore???

Hey Ron....thanks for the response. Been wanting to tell you how much I
appreciate the great job you have done with this sight....it sure has brought
back a lot of very pleasant memories of my younger days on river banks
throughout this end of the country.

That wheel looks awesome....know that I don't have the ponies to swing it
but sure would look cool on my "C" modified. Had Marc Johnson build me a
laydown when the knees quit working the way they should and didn't have
the money to get into something that I could sit in. Had a few health problems
over the winter and am currently going through a divorce but hopefully will
be looking to making a few races next year as a competitor.....been missing
that badly. Bob ran my 20 mod hydro at the mod nationals so we are starting
to get back into the swing of things.....didn't make it into the finals but had
a ball being back with our second family.

Will try to make Grass Lake so hopefully will see you there. Haven't seen
Pat and not sure if he is still in the area or not....hard telling with that guy.
Thanks again and will be calling you when things get settled down here.

Ron

5 blade props are not legal in the Modified Outboard Division in APBA. Sorry Ron.

They are legal in Pro though... :D

Glanced thru the rule book and didn't see anything bout 5 bladers.....must've
missed it. Thought I saw one years ago and believe it was one that Jonathon
Lester had for his B or C mod hydro. Oh well, I only have one four blade now
and that will probably go to pay for lawyers so can't really worry bout it till
next year.

Thanks,
Ron (the good Sax)
