Bill Cooper's "Spooky" with Darrel Jenkins strapped in the back seat....

The boat was "Stretched" to be long enough...This nose looks like current day Fountains.....

In the Long Beach to San Francisco Race, Jenkins was so wet and cold, he almost died from exposure....

We use to like to run F Runabout, we wlways said, "It was more fun with two in the boat."

Never had five.....but why not??

I rode with Don Aranow in this race. Knocky House was in Europe with Don's other boats. I was working for Don that summer instead of Keikhaefer at Lake X. Don arrived in Long Beach at about 3:00AM the morning of the first leg to San Diego. The next morning he didn't have a clue about the course. I would point out the check boats but he wouldn't pay any attention to me. This was a 2 day race and we finished 2nd to Odell Lewis in the turbine. Odell was sitting idle at the finish dock and Don came by him at full throttle and within inches. Except for a Molinari that I rigged for him in Miami I never would get in a boat with him again.
