I am in the process of shedding duplicate and surplus extra Mercury Modified 4 cylinder 30, 40 to 44 cubic inch complete racing engines, (just keeping 1 of each C,D and FE Merc Modified deflector race engine each) completely built Mercury Modified Outboard powerheads, surplus internal and block parts, Quincy exhaust filler blocks and Mercury Class "D" Quicksilver new and good used gearcase parts such as shafts, new and good used gear sets, prop shaft bearing carriers, tail cones, bearings etc. Too much to list until the lot has slimmed down a bit. If you have a D Quicksilver part need, email me at: anzani@mts.net and I will see if I can accomodate you with what you need and a good price to go with it. :)
**See my other advertisements selling complete engines and complete ready to bolt up powerheads.

The following shows the inventory of my spare/excess Mercury "D" Mark 55H Quicksilver Gearcase parts and assemblies that I am going to sell off to Collector(s) or to Racer(s). I have not made a decision if I am going to part out the entire lot of 1 complete Mercury Mark 55H complete and near 2nd complete gearcase assemblies here plus lots of spares or sell it as a package deal to one buyer for everything as I don't want to be left with any repair/replacements parts for my existing Modified Merc engines. My posterity/museum engines will never need these either.
The all inclusive list is as follows:
1.) Merc 55H stock dimensioned gearcase with loose rear cone threads, needs oversized cone and re-thread job. Good bearing areas throughout otherwise.
2.) Merc 55H stock dimensioned gearcase requiring the drivehaft bearing (Torrington roller) area be sleeve/bused and new Torrignton drivehaft bearings installed. Cone threads and other bearing areas are in good shape
3.) 2 Piece coupled Mercury Mark 55H driveshaft for standard height stock racing setup but can easily be cut and re-joined for shorter Modified applications/transoms.
4.) 3 of Mercury D propshafts with mounted gears. 2 shafts in good shape with their gears, 1 shaft is fair condition and likewise its prop gear.
5.) 3 of Mercury D propshaft mounted propshaft gears. All 3 are used but in condition from 95% to 90% and final down to about 80% of gear wear left.
6.) 4 of Mercury D driveshaft gears. 2 are in good used condition with 90%+ gear wear left. 1 has about 80% gearwear left. 1 is poor with a partially cracked tooth.
7.) 5 of Mercury D tailcone bearing and seal assembly for propshaft assembly. 4 tailcones are good to near new with insitu bearings and seals. 1 can still be re-machined to re-new rear seal landing, loaded with Torringtons and used again.
8.) 2 of Mercury D tailcones with good threads. One is NOS new and the other had the prop eat it a bit as it did the seal and cone bearing carrier also here for sale.
9.) 2 of Mercury D waterpump cartridges with stainless steel covers and forward seal compression rings in good condition.
10.) 2 of Mercury D propshaft gears (unallocated) in used but very good condition with over 95% of wear left.
11.) 4 of Mercury D top of housing cartidges with seals. All in good condition. 2 for stock (Merc 55H) outboard use and 2 for Modified Outboard use for pipe/stick towers).
12.) 4 of Mercury D water pump impellers, 3 in good and i in fair conditions.
13. Mixed bag of Mercury D Quicksilver gearcase bearing shims and waterpump sealing rings.
14.) 2 of new Torrington for Merc D Quicky in major housing gearcase bearings.
15.) 4 of new Torrington for Merc D Quicky tailcone/propshaft support bearings.
16.) 4 of Mercury D Quicky driveshaft main ball bearing units, 2 are new and 2 are used. The 2 used bearings are both in good condition for re-use.
17.) 3 of Mercury D Quicky propshaft main bearings. All 3 have never been used.
18.) 6 of Mercury D Quicky propshaft/tailcome cartridge seals in new condition.
19.) Misc Mercury D Quicky water tube seals and washers.
20.) Misc Mercury D Quicky driveshaft gear bolts and geartop lock washers.
END OF ITEMS LIST.
If I knew I could reliably sell off all the parts, all parted out to the last item, so it would all be gone, I would, But if the interest is to pick off what ever until next spring and still leave me with odds and sods, I would prefer a single buyer/collector/racer for it all in one sale.
What parted out interests can be determined? What enblock sale interests are there out there? I am going to post everything on the major sites with good Jpeg pictures on BRF as well as the listing the parts elsewhere, so I can see what might or can happen. If you have some kind of interest here, email me only at: anzani@mts.net
There are two interests here. *A Complete Parting Out or * A "Enblock Lot Sale"
No phone calls please, only email me at: anzani@mts.net

Each Mk55H gearcase needs one area of repair. Emails asked?? so here are the answers
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Merc Mk 55H gearcases - housing repairs estimates? Both Cases
*For those wanting to know what it costs to repair the loose cone and housing threads that the tail cone tightens into on the bare aluminum finish Merc Mk 55H gearcase housing? *I was quoted $100.00 USD$ by Phil MacDaniel, last year, to overhaul the cone and re-threading, who does that work for everyone I seem to know or hear it being done for them. The $100.00 covers shipping back. Re-threading the gearcase to .075 over stock and supplying the replacement cone whose threads are .075 oversize to fit the new cone. So she is completely a like new fit without any loss of strength and no thread sloppiness.
*For those wanting to know what it costs to re-bush the black painted Merc Mk 55H gearcase center bearing area in these gearcases. Again about $100.00 to clean out the center hole, re-selve the bearing landing and you supply the replacement Torrington bearing, that they will also install it and so they don't have to run around and do it which would then raise the price again somewhat higher if they had to run around and supply the Torrington needle roller bearing there too. You pay the shipping though when its returned to you. (The Hurricane (Mike Petty) did a repair like this for himself last year on his A-B Merc racing Quicky and explained in on the Swamp Pit for everyone's technical knowledge and permanent record if they saved it to disk.)
*The prices were quoted in 2004 and now its near the end of 2005 and may have gone up slightly?
Both repairs are easy ones, to me and to the doer's anyway! They are professional journeyman machinists is my understanding, so they know this stuff quite well without saying any more than that.

I have been asked by block as well as individual buyers to clean the parts real good and take a detailed picture of each of the Quicksilver D components for sale. I have comitted that to many readers/buyers and hope to have that all done by the following weekend. I wish to thank everyone for their patience as this is only my serious hobby, not my profession. Be patient. :)
