I was also amazed at the people I raced against through the 70's who were racing in 54 and 55 when stock outboard was brand new.

Dale,

Thanks for posting these. I can't believe all the names I recognize! I also learned my Dad raced off of Long Island at 19 years old. I had not previously know until I saw the results of a C Mod Runabout race in Middletown, CT in the Propeller results. Great Stuff!

It is good stuff Chris. I'm glad you posted here. Your family has a great boat racing history and I would like for you to share some of the many memories you have had over the years in boat racing.

!955 , I wasn't born yet , so I defer to those of you that were around at the time. The article on the front page of the December 1955 issue concerning the APBA and NOA , what were the issues that lead to the , disharmony , shall we say. I realize there will be differing opinions but I would like to learn why drivers or clubs went with NOA and what was their beef with APBA ?? Hopefully this won't dredge up bad feelings but perhaps some of the issues in 1955 are still present in 2018 ?? It seems the the " peace and harmony " Jack Maypole was looking for has been a little elusive for the past 63 , at least ,years.

I think there has been some discussion along these lines on BRF earlier Dale, but I can't remember where. A friend of mine's Dad was maybe the only one who won an APBA National Championship and an NOA World Championship in the same class the same year NOA formed as a split from APBA. Think it was 1952 or 53. I will talk to him when he gets back from North Texas to get the scoop. Ralph Donald should be a good source for information about what went on.
