Does anyone remember or have pictures of boat named Woody Woodpecker back in the late 50 or early 60's running at Long Beach Marine stadium. It had twin surface running props but a single engine. Very spectacular in its day as I recall.

Yes I remember it very well. Thru a rooster tail like a Unlimited.

If you log onto my webpage " boatsport.org " you'll find an excellent article covering the boat "Donald Duck" in the February 1956 issue of Speed and Spray. The boat had a neat counter rotating surface drive gearcase.

Yes ,that was the name . I knew it was some cartoon character. Thanks for the link to the web site. Brought back many memories. I remember the rooster tail as well as having been wet down by it from the beach. Wonder what happened to the boat and the concept.
