I just bought a boat and it has this ol bronze 2 blade on it, I would think by the ## that it would be a 22P, But it couldnt be, It looks more like a 27P or more.I looked in my old blue merc book but its not in there.
Any one out there know what it is or how I can tell just what it is?

If that were a 27" pitch, ( i don't think so , ) then it would be WAY overpropped , that looks like a merc 1100 = 110 horsepower , seems to me that a 22 oughtta be just about right , for that motor & boat combo . if you wanna run more modern props with more pitch, try finding a Merc 850 XS lowerunit for it . it would have low water pickup & 2.3 / 1 gear ratio .

Looks like 22 to me, too ... 27 would look like a lot more
The part number says cupped or extra cupped and 22 pitch

The prop I have listed on E-Bay would work pretty good, all around, I'd bet...
FYI: They old Mercs were pretty high compression, we had some "HOT" pump gas for muscles cars, boats were layed up like paper...They may have run a 27 on this "PUPPY" (But Sam says the part number is 22...AND Sam knows).......Driving one of these style boats is a real art. I never got very good at the single, the twins were easier...In the early days of OPC...The Downard Boys, Stan Stoffer, Joe Burgess...to name a few, could make these Vee hulls look like poetry in action...
If you want to send me the prop, I'll pitch it out, and polish that brass like you won't believe....
