AOMCI defines "Antique" as pre 1950. Generally when shifting FNR gearcases came in common use. Classic is 1950 to 30 yrs old.

I was thinking after San Diego that a lot of the ANTIQUE Outboarding and Classic Boat stuff is really misunderstood...

I figured you HAD to be an ANTIQUE to own an Antique...which, "DUH" is really a dumb thought...

At San Diego, my brother and I were the two oldest there...I think...but the group as a whole were "YOUTHFUL" in body, mind and spirit...

Truth is, young people can love Classic Stuff with great passion and, in fact, they do..

The young man who had restored the Mark 30-H, was from New Zealand...the Mark 30-H was old than he was....

Classic Motors, Classic Boats...Antiques....So what, it was people who loved boats, getting together and talking about their loves...I honestly can't wait for Puddingstone... October 9...

Here is a pic of a 36 Evinrude I'm trying to steal from the people who sold me the Lake N Sea and a picture of my 18 hp Sea Horse which will be my 1st motor project that I can show at the AOMCI gatherings. I never thought I would have so much fun with all this boat and now motor stuff. It's the craziest thing but why not.

Take care,

P.S. "No I don't want to race boats....even if you give me a big head start". I didn't forget you tried to get me to join in and race boats. Hee Hee I have my hands full with Vintage trailers, fiberglass boats and now antique outboard motors.

Jill, hope you don't mind me posting your E-Mail, will post the pictures tomorrow...

I am confused, I think I listed your name as "PAT" by you boat....correct me if I did...

If you feel the need to warm up any of your old iron, we're having an AOMCI meet at Salt Springs October 1st. I'm going to try to make it to Puddingstone. We just returned from the Clayton Race Boat Regatta draggin' a trailer with two boats.

The Johnson is a 1958 18 Hp. I skinned alot of knuckles working on them. The other appears to be a late 30's Evinrude, I'm going to say a 2.5?????

The 18 is in great shape, use a little light rubbing compound and that cover will shine like a baby's but.
