Great Videos you've posted! What are the straight-a-way speeds of the Sport C, SST-45, and SST-60?

In SST-60, the two boats in the lead in that video are probably right at 80mph.

Sport C 55-58

I know your boat is faster than 55 to 58 mph!
I would think 63 to 65 mph for the fast Sport C boats.

I can tell you this Mark we have never seen 60mph in any of our 3 Sport C boats. Randy Limbeck set the Kilo record last year at 61mph.

Maybe my GPS is wrong then. On my boat we had 60 mph with the slowest prop, and 63 with the fastest.

What weight were you running at when you ran those speeds?
How long of a straitaway do you need to get to those speeds?
What speed did you see in race conditions at Kankankee?
Also are your props for top end or accelleration?

Matt,
We had 75 lbs lead weight in to be over the 675 min.
It was tested here in Kankakee, so normal straightaway.
We did not run a GPS in the race.
My props are for race conditions. Largest pitch is 17.6" and smallest is
17.1". Dia. range from 10.75" to 11.5"
How accurate are GPS units?

Gps can be pretty accurate maybe mile or 2 off depending on view of sky and refresh rate.

When we test Sport C's on the Sacramento river with a current of apprx.
4 mph we will show a higher speed in the downstream run because of the
increased ground speed and a decrease in speed on the upstream run.
I believe on a still lake the speed should be the same in any direction.
