I just contacted Joey D'cucci(sp?) about a Div. I boat that his father had built for APBA as a Formula Racer some time back (20 years?). He said that the only thing the boat needs to race is a battery , a larger fuel tank, and a little "clean-up" work. He does not have the time to get the boat ready as he is starting a new business and is extremely busy, but he will assist some one who is willing to do the work, spend a few bucks for a battery, fuel, and the entry fees. The person willing to do this will have a good ride in a good Div I boat. Joey will be in the BODYSNATCHER so he will not be able to drive. Just so there is no mis communications, Joey will provide the boat, you provide the rest. Joey's phone number (928)505-5900. Be a part of history!;) Rod

Joey's name is Cucci... But I always called the boats D'Cucci, but when I met Joey, I learned his name is Cucci....(You and Joey are driving together, you NEED to know his name)...

Is this boat on a trailer? It looked like she'd run pretty well...I saw her about a month ago when I was at Joey's shop in Havasu...

Does it have a trailer? I'll be at Joey's, Thursday, before the Enduro...I could haul her to Parker.....NO I'm NOT going to DRIVE IT or any other boat....I get a head ache watching...

Cucci's boat is on a trailer. As I understand it, according to Ted Kolby, Joe Cucci has about four (4) of these Formula Ford Boats--all of which fit into the Div. I class. He will sell them at a very reasonable cost or he will let someone run them in the Enduro if they are willing to stand the expense of getting them ready to race (battery, fuel tank, "clear the engine" etc. etc). He also plans to promote them for the Parker 300, 2007 race, if it happens. What a great way to start racing!
Incidentally, Ross reminded me by e-mail that Ted Kolby, Ron Hill and myself offered to pay the cost over-runs for this race if we donot get enough entries to cover the cost of putting on the race. If this happens, it will be a sorry situation and will surely spell the end of the Parker 300. I have never heard such BS coming out of a bunch of "would be's" as I have seen on both the HOTBOAT and the BRF.COM FORUMS. Maximus you said it right when you called these guys down. You have done more than your share and I want to thank you for your great attitude, spirit and help--the next beers on me! Now, BIG TALKERS, it is time to walk the walk, get your entry in or shut your critical mouths  Rod

You tell 'em Rod!! Those little boats would probably be a blast to drive.

So, Fyreman, you want to drive one? You pick it up, I will help you get it together. :) You are never too old! :D Rod

If I destroy something critical on my boat in testing this week, I'll drive one. I called at least one friend to tell him there were boats available, but no takers.

Bill, I talked to Joey Cucci yesterday. He has said come and get them. I will be in Parker on Wednesday. Joey is in Havasu. If there is interest, contact Joey and go pick a boat up. I believe the Crackerbox boys are picking one up today, leaving two or three left. We should be able to get them running in just a day or two. As I said, I will be in Parker, you pick the boat up and I will help get things together. Pat Bowman said he would be there also, with truck and tools ready to work. Somebody has to have the energy to go pick the boat up, it is not that far from Parkerto Havasu, but by Friday it will simply be too late and I don't think Joey wants these boats taken home with no interest in running the Parker 300. :) Rod

Just heard from the Cracker Box contingent and it appears the Cucci boats are simply not going to run THIS YEAR! Too much work and too little time. However, next year, if there is a next year, will be a different story! The Bat Boat is also in doubt at this time. It appears that the Division I will have to start with the Division II boats. Division IV (ski boats) are also short on numbers and if there are no further entries, they will start with the Div V boats. Not much to smile about in support of this race, sorry I cannot be more enthusiastic--seems we have a lot more talkers than we have walkers ! I'll be there, Ben will be there, Ron will be there, Jerry will be there and a lot more. We talk the talk but we also walk the walk! :( Rod
