I would ask that all potentional rule changes are brought to the meeting to discuss in detail.

The meeting is open to all previous '05 and '06 race participants, sponsors, owners and crews. If you did not race in '05 or '06 but plan on racing in '07 and wish to attend the meeting, please PM me at rossdbos26@yahoo.com or call me at (310) 318-4012 at your earliest convenience.
Thank you!

Just spent a couple of hours with Ron Hill. We both came to the conclusion that the 2006 rules were very close and only minor adjustments to the divisions are in order. Ron is on his way to pick up 3 division I boats as we speak. He is then planning on working at least one of the D'Cucci boats up for another Division I boat. We felt that the Division I tunnel boat that ran this year would have probably won the race had he continued to keep running and should have been a Division II boat. All jets, blown and unblown would go into Division II. The Mod VP boats with the stock lower unit would move into Division III. Division IV, V and VI boats would remain essentially the same. Handicaps would be re-worked a little but I don't know how much closer they can get. Naturally, every one with an entry would like to gain "the edge". I have no axe to grind and have tried very hard to keep the "racers edge" out of it. With 5 Divisions represented in the TOP 10 and no accidents except for the driver that fell out of his boat, I think we have accomplished most of our expectations in the two years that the Parker 300 has been run. With minor adjustments we can continue to improve--with major changes, we can blow the entire program. These are suggestions only and represent my thoughts, hope they will be expressed at the Dec 3rd meeting. :) Rod

Rod:
Thank you for your input. I think for now December 3rd should be the time to discuss any possbile changes. I have heard from numerous racers and owners that have raced the Enduro in either years about the proposed changes being "tossed out" on the web and at this time seems to be creating some issues. I believe that if we hold our rule proposals until December 3 we will create less confusion. This will be done at the meeting and then a subsequent meeting by the 2007 Rules Committee (Committee members TBA) to finalize and adopt the rule modifications/changes. I will bring the information pertinent to "fine tuning" the handicaps, etc.

Rod, I wish you were going to be able to attend as I think your input would be better served coming from the "horses mouth", not that I think you a "horse".
Thanks,
Ross Wallach, RPM RACING ENT.

Incidently, I believe the rules committee should have one representative from each division for the 2007 Enduro so if you wish to represent your division please let me know what division you wish to represent. I need people that can be fair, impartial and are committed to striving for parity. If that is you, please email me to be considered for the 2007 Rules committee.
Thank you for your support.
I can be reached at rossdbos26@yahoo.com or (310) 318-4012.

I think you should keep the meeting for people that have raced in 05 and 06.
It's only fair that they have the say. People "planning" on racing should have no say whatsoever. Probably only 1 out of 25 will race anyway. My .02 .

That is precisely why I said if you are planning to race but haven't raced in the previous two years, please call or email me asap. This way I can look at the individual's committment and decide if they are coming to "stir the pot" or just listen. Those that haven't raced yet will not have a say in the rules but I like to believe that if they care enough about contacting me and wanting to attend their presence would be ok.
Thanks,
Ross

Yodaddy...I you were on my crew, even though you didn't show up...

Why don't you and Sid come for the meeting and we'll go together???

You could send your suggestions, but sometimes, being at the meetings, you get the feeling of what is REALLY HAPPENING.

The "RACE" has always been important, but SAFETY, FUN and TRADITION has been the THEME....

So is this a private party now???

Just because someone hasn't made it in the last two years they need to kiss *** to get an invitation?

I thought the idea was to revive what's been a race for decades, what about the 1000's of participants that raced before most you ever owned a boat?

If you truly want to PROMOTE this event you should be welcoming anybody you can get, not slammin the door in their face because they didn't make the previous two races.

John,
It's been a problem with those that claim they are going to race for one reason or another never are able to make it but they still have an opinion, (keyboard cowboy), which they are absolutely entitled to, but coming from those racers that have already "stepped up" and are committed to racing again are given the opportunity to let us know what is needed to be improved upon. I don't anticipate any "major" race format changes after the event rather I anticipate having a "debrief" meeting to "fine tune" the stagger or make any changes that will improve safety, etc. Also, if one has not raced (or was staff at) this years or last years Enduro how is one qualified to make recommendations, is it "just because"?
BTW, No a@@ kissing required, if you wish to attend just email or CALL me (310) 318-4012 or rossdbos26@yahoo.com and we'll work it out.
Thanks for your post John!:D

I agree that people should be able to come and listenand make a suggestion but should it come to a vote I still don't think they should have one.
That would be like a non union person coming to a union meeting and getting a vote. No way.

Next time you talk to Sid mention it to him. I would be willing to come but I should not get a vote. I also would help Sid drive that boat he claimed!!

Send your entry with entry fee to Ross for the 2007 race..bet you'd get a vote!!! LOL!!!

Ross...don't answer...it was a JOKE.....maybe a bad one but!!!!!

What boat did Sid claim??? His Allison Bass Boat would be a sweet set up....Division II???

Ron, you never cracked a bad joke in your life--I believe the more interest we can generate, the more hopes we have of continuing the great tradition we renewed last year. SAFE, FUN, FAMILY ORIENTED, and for those involved in the race, EXCITING! Never count the little guy out!

Ron, you are correct, money talks, but in this case that's not what's fair or what it is about, Yes, I get the joke. Anyone that is interested in showing up should make the necessarry arrangements to do so. Voting rights shall be determined by participation. Input is alway's weighed depending upon the source. The "little guy" has voice though over the past two years it has barely gotten over a "whisper"!
Let's see what happens on the 3rd. Let's not turn this thread into anything more than the annoucement that it was intended to be.
Thanks,

So, you Phoenix guys are thinking Division I??? Might be good you ain't voting on the rules...

Really, why don't you and Sid come over for the meetig, we could go ad look through Foster's stuff...and maybe make a "PLAN" for 2007.....

If nothing else, if would be fun "Rubbing" elbows with everyone!!!

If you have plans to race the Parker 300 next year and you consider yourself a "little guy", make arrangements to attend the meeting December 3rd. Maybe you should bring money and a completed entry blank --"money talks and BS walks"! This would certainly be a positive show of your intent to race! " Let no boat be left behind!" :) Capnzee

I have a date with a cancer doctor and don't think I will make it. I wouldn't mind racing this thing, honest, but would need a sponsor.
I have not talked to Sid in a long time. Hard for me to get hold of him since he bought my Allison.

busy, busy, work, xmas, new year, out of state visitors...

can't make the meeting, but Ron can have my proxy...

Ron, I would be willing to race one of your boats in the enduro. I would be willing to IRONMAN it for the full 300 or I can split driving with YODADDY...

I am going to drag race the Ally in IHBA for two events next year (both AZ stops). I would like to run it in a Nostalgia race or two as well... I am working on getting some local businesses to help sponsor so a family guy like me with low $$ can do a bit of racing.

Yodaddy...hope the CANCER deals goes OK...Been fighting SKIN CANCER FOR 30 YEARS MYSELF.

Sid, if you and Yodaddy and work with a LOW BUDGET DEAL, I'll get you aride next year at Parker...I seriously thing you'd get a GIANT KICK from running your Allison in Nostalgia...

With ENOUGH PROXIES, I can "RUN the TABLE". Truth is, I will give my "Short Speech" and let Ross and the Committee do their thing...

ADD: We might come and run an IHBA with you!!

Yes Ron, so far it has been just skin cancer. Now I have a mole thats starting to do some weird stuff and I can't miss an appt with the VA as they are busy and under staffed.
Sid, put an older 200 on your ally and lets race it at the enduro.

I'm not letting "THE CAT OUT OF THE BAG" but your Allison will be EXCELLENT in Division IV. You can also run Nostalgia, maybe at Havasu Landing in January. Start practing 80 MPH turns. 24 ET CUT will be perfect of Nostalgia...Leave the trolling motor in Phoenix...

You and Yodaddy should just run together....Otherwise, I'll get him a Division I boat. I've got my eye on a 17 foot Tri Hull with a straight 6 Chevy and a Volvo drive...You think Yodaddy would mind driving with Elvis??? Not "THE KING" Elvis..Elvis Schwartz!!! And, Not Dan Schwartz, I've got another boat for him!!!!

Ron,

let the cat out on what type of lower unit I can run... noseconed low water pickup or not? engine height restriction? remember, it would be difficult (not impossible) to blow over a "pad v" (blow out yes, blow over no...).

"who"' has a list of the Nostalgia races? Ross? Ron?

thx.sid

I don't have the exact racing dates, but the nostalgia class plans on running at Lake Ming in March, Blue water in April, the August race at Marine stadium, Ming in Sept. and the Parker 300 in October. Then the new year 08' starts back at Blue water in Nov. If there are any I forgot, let me know people. Being Father Nostalgia, I have a few more years under my belt and forget more than I want.

from what I understand, any lower as long as it shifts and a v-bottom less than 22'...

I was looking at the specifications for speed ski racing outboards (as I was told that was basically the requirements for Div IV).
