Hello
Does anyone know of an east coast boat builder that will build a new D Uility design (Champion or Calkins) wooden race boat??
Thanks

I have a 12ft Desilva built in 1987 that you could put a 55H on. It's a classic KR design. It doesn't have an open cockpit but it will work way better than what you asked about.

Thanks for the reply.
Do you have any pics of your boat?
Where are you located?

I still have this CMR Sorensen that should handle a 55 on it. Boat is located in Western PA (near Pittsburgh)
Let me know if you are interested.

There are two boat builders on Long Island that build these kind of race boats on special order. Bob Dolter and Howie Pickerell are the two that come to mind. Attached is a DU Speedliner that was built two years ago by Bob. If interested can get you phone numbers. Bob N-96

Thanks Bob.
Nice rig you got there.
Any information would be helpful. Long Island is not too far away.
I live in Baltimore. There must be someone here in Mayland that still builds these boats.

Len is out of the business of boat building. My brother and I bought all of his remaining wood, fastners, tools and patterns as well as 6 boats and 5 engines. We build the 60's style Speedliners and we now can build the Sid Craft runabouts. We have been building boats since the 1960's when we bought the plans and patterns for the model 510 from General Marine the original builder of the Speedliners. Visit our web site to see some of our work. We are now offering complete boat and motor rigs for vintage racing.

Nick- Yes you are dating yourself. I remember buying a C/D alky Sea Jay (Built by the old Speedliner crew) for $545 ready to go and delivered to our home in Riverhead,NY.:D I also miss my old racing equipment.
