Here's my old 3.5 hydro..started life as a "Drag n fly". My brother re desighend it and I built it "his way";)...We used to race in a small NorCal club..I could beat most of the tunnel boats with this thing as long as it stayed on the water:D

Very cool hydro . Looks like a 4 point to me . What club did you used to race with ? I used to race at Spreckles lake with some of what was then the big guys. I had a Ken Riley tunnel with a 3.5 K&B . That was back when the carb wouldnt work right and they went with the exhaust slide valve to try and fix the problem . You couldnt idle the darn thing tho.

Rohnert Park Model Power Boatracing Asossiation....
We raced on Lake Roberts, just off the 101....We got the city to put in a peir over the lake so we could see and race better....We were the only "group" using the lake at the time.... A few months later we were told a WHIIIIINE & CHEEEEEEESE tasting place was going in on the far end of the lake.....Next thing you know the City made it a CRIME to run a model boat on the lake....

Here's one of my Bro's old tunnels(This thing still halls A$$)

There was a place somewhere up there that I went to watch the toy boats for the first time. Think it was just out of Peterlumer just off the freeway . Thats where I met Ed Whinfield and Ken Riley .
When I moved to Taft I went to ebay and bought some more boats. A 3.5 on a plastic tunnel , a 7.5 on a glass killer looking tunnel and a 11cc and a tunnel for that one too also bought a miller american kit plus the stuff to make it run . Then I went looking for a place to run them . Lots of good looking lakes in Bakersfield all said keep your boats out of here. These lakes are for the Mehhikins to bring there familys to. Sold everything I had and just forgot about it . Now someone has bought a piece of property near Shafter and is building a lake for rc boating. Oh well Aint going back now. Might go watch someday tho.
Get your stuff running again and bring it to Chowchilla next year. I had planned to go this year but its always someones birthday on that weekend.

How are things going in dillon ? Enviros havent shut it down yet I hope. I do miss that place. I am close enough to pismo that I get there a couple of times a year. Even did a little metal detecting at Pirates cove one time but didnt find anything worth while.

The best I have memory of was Hap Mulvany. He has since passed away but his son Pat is living in central Florida. You can reach him @ (407) 654-8845. He still has his hands in it and may be hard to reach, but if you can get him you will get all the info you need.......

I've been taking the kids out to the local race course about once a month this year, they seem to like it. From my observations my local group, about 25 strong, leans toward gas/spark engines. Nitro still rules on speed though.

Also, Aqua Craft has a nice RTR .18 rig, The Miss Vegas I think it's called. IMPBA has a class just for it too. Looks like a good starter class for kids.

It also appears that my beloved K&B outboards have become collector items, thats bad, I just wanted to buy some extra engines for more stuff.

Eric.......check out the link for International Waters listed in the
post from Lee's kid.......there is always K&B stuff for sale in their
"For Sale" forum.

Here is link to Gary Preusse.......he's probably got the best stock
of K&B parts in the country. Dealt with him back in the R/C days
and is a super guy to deal with.

When K and B was in Havasu, Jimbo did a lot of testing for them....crashing his airplanes was NOT part of his testing program...I think he's got a bunch of K and B outboards and other parts....he might sell them....contact me, and I'll get you Jimbo's number..

The GOOD SAXVIK??? I see two Saxvik's in New York, both say they are the good ones...of course, one day they wear sunglasses...probaly only ONE Saxvik...

Actually, the RC GAS boats make a Ton of sense...They will fit in your back seat. They burn gas and oil...they are big enough that you can see them from the shore...

I've been making some props for them...Some two and four blades...here!

Ron......this was started many years ago with Betty Pugh......she had
a hard time telling us apart then so the first thing she would ask was
"Are you the good one?" Of course we both tried to tell her that
the one she was talking to was the "good Sax". There are indeed
two of us and Ron (as is probably the case in the Hill family) is the
good Sax.

Depends on what type of hull you want. Are you looking for a hydro or tunnel hull? The 2 websites that I listed above are probably the best resources to use.
