Point Blank,
Is using a late model 56 inch OMC short block a legal powerhead for the SST 60 class ? I know the towers are unique for this class. I am asking about the powerhead. Could a person build a powerhead based upon the 56 CI block from OMC ? I believe they switched from the 49.9 CI 70 HP to the 56" 70 HP in the mid to late eighties.
Thanks.
Dave

SST60 is 56cubes. you can use a reg' case, but not a solid molded 56cube case.
Not totaly sure but think ya need the brige exhaust port case.
exhaust addapter is SST60 only, the foot, carbs, hood and tray, steerin toob,
think thats it:cool:

Is the Voss Foam block legal ? Crank and pistons and rods that came in the fishing engine ?

thikin it's lost fome, but ya, the one with the seams, steel crank, with the "A"frame rods. i'd get the Inspectors SST60 spec sheet, then you can check your deak hight, and all port hights, head cc's all that. cuzz you can bet all the fast guys got one, and or the guy buildin thare modas. you can clear the glue line out of the boost port, but before i would cut any thing I get that spec Sheet:cool:

If an OPC person is reading this, please let me know how to get my hands on a Spec Sheet. Is there a real Tech Manual for this engine ? Inspectors manual ?

Dave,
If you have any other questions, you can always call Jeff Titus at 863-465-9438. He's a pile of information, even if you sometimes have to drag it out of him. If you're not familar with Titus, he's the inspector for the APR series and does all the inspecting of our SST-60 stuff. He won't tell you how to cheat, and he won't share everyones little secrets, but he will tell you if what you have is legal.
