inside an outboard jet there is a brace or spacer that is vertical on the left side of the jet pump. the purpose of the jet pump is to draw water up by an impeller and pressurize it and shoot it out the rear of the pump. my question is, by removing this brace does it allow more water to pass throught the pump, or does it create more room in the pump causing less pressure and therefore decreasing perfomance? just asking

if you are refering to the small vertical piece abouve the water outlet housing, it is there to try and help relieve some of the steering torque, same idea as what a trim tab does on a prop lower unit............
