Does anybody remember this boat? It is a 1985 Douglas marine 24 skater carbon fiber, one of two made. It was a factory race boat for mercury marine and Douglas marine. It was also ame 4000, baby patriot and it had the #S-1 on it for years. The reason I am asking is because I bought it and I would like to know more on its history. I know it was a national champion boat for four years but not sure what years, and it was also a speed record holder but I am not sure what years. It has since been repainted. Any info would be very helpful, thanks.

what motors were on it when you worked on it? It set the record with stock 200,s. It now has 1989 bridge ports 225,s on it, I had the boat going about 100 mph last fall.I was told the boat also was owned by bob hamilton and andrew engle of engel marine in florida.thanks for the reply

The boat was raced with stock 200's, I just hand built them! ;) Testing the boat would run an easy 107.
John are those the motors that were built completely from individual parts ordered from mercury?

Not to "High Jack" this thread...But how fast will a 24 Skater go with like twin 2.5 260's???
AND.....does anyone know where there is one for sale AT A GOOD PRICE???
AN FYI: Parker: The 2007 Blue Water Resort and Casino 300 is allowing 24 footers.....Gary Harbanian, Schiada 17, twin turbos, could have won Parker the last two years...sans problems....and he admits he can't go 110....
Waiting for your answers to me speed question...and NO, I ani't driving it...
