Good Morning CALIFORNIA Classic Glass Owners!
Here is the UPDATED 2007 Calendar for gatherings of "Classic Glass" in California.
2007 Events/Gatherings Planned
REMEMBER these events are not boat shows....they are just days or weekends of fun in the sun or rain with our boats! Boats came in many different conditions......from totally restored, original to very much a work in progress.
"BIG DOGS" Lunch Runs!
From Jim Barker (awannago2)
Winter thru Spring 2007
The "BIG DOGS" Lunch Runs resume! Once again Jim (awannago2) will be alternating Sat and Sun so everyone who works weekends will have a chance to participate. These "BIG DOGS" Lunch Runs are planned leaving out from various locations along the Delta. Plan on coming out and don't let mother nature tell you when you can go boating. These runs are a lot of fun!
Currently in the planning stages is a THREE DAY Delta Run possibly in late April or mid May. Here is a link to the discussions taking place on the planning for this run.

Dan Walters (SactoDan) will be hosting the 2nd "BIG DOGS" Lunch Run on Saturday February 17th at the Sacramento Yacht Club on the Sacramento River just a mile or two south of the Riverfront/Old Sacramento area.
We will be launching from the Elkhorn Launch facility at 12 noon. This run is approximately 15 miles, one way, to the Sacramento Yacht Club. I've done this run before and 14 of those miles is wide open meaning WOT.
Here are couple of links of the Elkhorn launch facility, location, and satilite images of the Sacramento river.
This link is information on the launch facility (river mile 70.5)

If you click on the "Previous" (upper right hand corner) five times the site will take you south on the river and you will eventually see the Sacramento Yacht Club at river mile 55.5. This gives you a good idea of what the run will entail.

"San Diego Gathering"
Ski Beach at Mission Bay
Noon to 5pm - Rain or Shine!!!
Dates Coming
Shannon Dunham of San Diego would like to invite you to join him and other fellow "Glassheads" for a day of good conversations about boats, life and a few boats to look at and use at San Diego's Ski Beach at Mission Bay.
There are several other launch sites, with one right at Ski Beach for those that don't want to run their boat far. The parking lot is large enough to house about as many boats as we want, so if boating is out of the question just tow it out for a look. If that is too much just stop by and mingle. These are "Rain or Shine" gatherings so check the weather and dress accordingly. There is a huge gazebo so we will stay dry if it rains. Boats can be beached at ski beach. A stern anchor is recommended also. This is a salt water venue.
"The Blue Pearl" restaurant is just a walk across the parking lot at the launch ramp near the Marina. Shannon can make reservations if the group wants to go there afterwards for dinner (DUTCH).

Fourth Annual "Whiskey Run"
Redding, CA
August 2007
Stay tuned for a date to be set for the Fourth Annual "Whiskey Run" 2007. The state park regulations only allow our reservations to be made 90 days in advance for the DRY CREEK GROUP CAMP. The "Whiskey Run" in August 2006 was the biggest ever with 26 examples of "Classic Glass" attending! The Dry Creek Campgrounds allows for us to be off to ourselves and keep our boats in the water just below our sites.
In the past, we have organized a caravan to Whiskeytown starting in Southern California. As the date is set and time grows closer there will be details to come for those who may want to participate.
