I'm sure you have noticed that some, but not all members on BRF have a picture just under their name that is some how related to them or their racing.

You can upload an image to the BRF server to become your avatar by going to User CP and then finding "Edit Avatar" on the left - the 5th thing down under Control Panel, click on Edit Avatar and a special page opens.

Scroll down to the bottom of the Edit Avatar page and you will see the "Choose File" button that lets you upload an image from your computer.

You may have also noticed that some avatars on BRF are much larger than those allowed on other discussion boards. This is not intended as a permenant feature, but rather a convienience for those who are less than expert at resizing images. We understand how frustrating it can be to make a picture small and still show what is important.

Very large avatars crowd over and down the viewed page and make your browser scrunch up the text in a longer, thinner column down the page; this makes pages longer and harder to read. We all proud of our accomplishments and cool stuff, but please be considerate of our readers when uploading an avatar.

The prefered avatar size is about 170 X 100 pixels or smaller. There are some very good ones here on BRF that are considerably smaller. If you can't get into that size range, just upload a larger one and ask to have it cropped (unnecessary stuff cut off the sides) and or resized.

If you had a pretty large avatar and find that it is suddenly resized, I probably did it just by cropping off unnecessary edges of the image -or- the BRF server may have automatically resized it since it has an automatic resize feature running now.
