I posted this on screamandfly with little respons.

I picked this up in 1996 for $500 w/trailer, 17' flaty, had a drive shaft, strut, and rudder in it. the dash was VERGIN no holes, the boat had never seen water. I pulled the V drive parts out and did some glassing , built a transom brace to tie into the stringers and made a bracket to hang an O/B on it.

All my kidds learnd to ski behind this little puppy, she's been a fun "SMALL & SLOW " boat for us . :)

Problem is I have never found out hwo the manufature was. :(
I've never found any #'s on it, or in it . no one I've talked to can tell me what it is. If you have an idea please share them. :)

Thanks !

The dude I bought this from was pretty skechy. I basicly payed the back storage fees he owd the boat yard it was siting in. And there was no title to the boat.

This thing has a big mural on the front with the name "WATERBIRD" painted on it. Does that ring any bell's???.

I liked the looks of it when I saw it on SAF, but I'm clueless, except to say, with the cowling on the driver's side, seems it might have been a tournamnet Type boat...But the spoiler at the transom makes you think it is a "RACE" Boat...

What year was HONDO building those Flat Bottoms with the cockpit offaset and moved forward about 18"???

There was a boat company north of San Louis Obispo, that built several style boats from little outboards to jets, this bost has some of that company's lines...but can't think of the city or boat company's name...Cheyenne Boats...

They are long gone though...
