4th Generation Hill To Race: Marlee Hill

Seems Marlee Hill will start racing J Hydro soon...She'll have Molly Ballou's life jacket and Eric Von Zapf's cut suit (Rod Zapf's son, the Navy Top Gun)...I made a deal with Don Hagerl to buy their two Evinrude 15 A motors. Chris and Amanda Hagerl raced these motors and are now running 45 SS.

Russ Hill Jr, Marlee's grandfather and Dad, Bunker Hill bought one motor...and I bought the other for Broc...

Ernie is building them a New hydro but Kyle Hannon may get the boat...

Marlee Hill will be a fourth generation Hill to race boats...

The second motor could end up in Gordon Jennings hands, it could end up in Scott Schotz's hands, it could end up in Greg Foster's hands....

Or we might just keep it for a back up for Marlee......Then again...Annette, Bunker's "LADY", thinks SHE could drive an "A" hydro...of course, I tell her she could... What worries me, is "CHICKS" could rule!!!!

Seems Robby Gordon thought the same thing....and look what happened to Robby!!!

After attending a nice race at Blue Water, something profound occurred to me. I sent my son, Bunker (and Marlee's father) and my brother, Ron, the following email (or as best I remember it)

Ron, Bunker,

Sixty years ago I started outboard racing as a second generation HILL. Thirty years later, you, Bunker, started racing as a 3rd generation HILL. Now, thirty years later, why the hell isn't Marlee racing boats, as a 4th generation HILL? She is13 afterall.

Got to thinking, hell we have two Evinrudes coming from Michigan, why only one boat...So, I'm going up to Chowchila, Wednesday July 4, 2007, to get plywood for a second A Hydro...

Hell, I justr got Ernie's staple gun fixed, he ought to be able to built a boat a lot faster now that his staple gun is working...

Pink boat for Marlee...Maybe, Amada Rich can help Broc pick colors for his boat...

Adding to that, Marlee and Miss KTDoodle have apparently been communicating regarding Marlee's racing carreer...What a great way to make friends with this boat racing thing! This summer I'm gunna pick up the gearfoot for the second motor I have, so, if anyone needs to run it, it will be there.....
