Welcome, one and all to the Antique Outboard Club of Southern Califronia's big Extravaganza......August 18, 2007, Skoontz will be cooking Johnsonville Brats.... Ron Hill will be talking a RACE BOAT. Russ Hill Jr, will be displaying his 1949 Johnson KR "A" motor that he won the William Randolph Hearst Regatta with... This motor is compeletly restrored except that it is a "DUNCAN" cyclinder block and everyone knows that a "DUNCAN" block wasn't as good as a "Factory" block..

You DO NOT have to be a member to attend this meet...in fact, you don't have to own a boat..

Seems, the FIBERGLASSICS Club will be "JOINT VENTURING" this function...

Plan to be there...AGAIN, Skoontz will be cooking those "NASTY OLD JOHNSONVILLE BRATS"...Damn thems is good!!! Especially cooked in Coors Light....or at least "COOLED" in Coors Light...

See you there...Hell, I might be driving a boat out there on Mission Bay........Then again, I might not...

Seems life tends to get in the way of things you really want to do.....I ended up running gravel all day because we were down one truck on a parking lot that we are paving....

Looking forward to seeing pictues!

As a guest, I used to get invited to the So Cal Antique Outboard meetings/shows. I finally gave them my dues money and haven't heard a word from anybody since. If all the members were as old as me, I would just have assumed they all died--or maybe they did.

Is there going to be another meeting? Ever? When? Where?

Just got back to AZ after attending Mark Suter's Meet. It was simply GREAT. Had great weather and a super bunch of guys. I understand about 170+ showed. You must understand that this was the day of the U of M vs Michigan State game down the road. The displays were fantastic of both service and racing engines. John Schubert was there with his B Quincy Looper, 20-H and Martin Hi Speed 60. They are as clean and polished as his shop floor shown in another thread. Mark Suter has a pole barn loaded with service and racing engines of all years and makes.
As the weather turned a bit cooler, the old Desert Geezer and wife headed back into warmer climes. Got to think of getting the AZ chapter up and going again as the snow birds return.:D
