Thought I would post a little news on the happenings at Marietta this past weekend......
F-3's
-Seemed like a healthy turn out, lots of boats
-Sam Lebanco won, looked really fast all day
-Congrats to Mike Hooper on 2nd, that new boat turns like a champ!
-Brent Dillard was fast all day too but spun out on the last turn-last lap trying to make a move on Lebanco
-Brian Brubaker was back in Howie Nichols boat-he must of had a barrel roll
or something they had to yank it out but he made it back for the finals
-Gordon Downard was also back in action
F-2's
-Again, lots of boats-lots of carnage too.....
-Youngs all composite boat was fast as hell
-That quiet experimental/envinronmental/green friendly/tree huggin lovin merc on Kidwells' ? boat scooted along really well- i likey.
-Big double blowover involving Pugh and Young battling for the lead on the first lap of the final, side by side, out of the last turn, getting together a bit and then flipping simultaneously, unfreakinbelievable. Pugh front pickle looked like it was busted off pretty good, couldnt see much damage on Youngs boat-at least from a distance.
-Pittman was fast all weekend and went on to win the final.
The Marietta Brewery served up some delicious beers (too many if I'm honest) and burgers
The Townhouse Tavern did a good job keeping me stocked with Blue Moons and Nachos
Rain threatened all day on Sunday but held off enough to put the show on
If the announcer said "the Italian Stallion-Sam Lebanco" one more time.....well
just stop saying it so much....I'm asking nicely-please.
I'm so excited to see High Point I'm going to have to sit on my hands to keep from waving to everybody...Hurry High Point Hurry!!!!!
Hey, I was there as well and everything you posted is correct. It was an awesome show of boats. The Grandprix of Mr. Young was extremely fast and the best handling boat in that rough water, just like the Champboat Grandprix is. I just don't understand why more people don't buy those Grandprix boats, all composite and fast all over the coarse.
Sam was the fastest 60 boat there during the race and the time trials, very nice rig on the water.
Agreed, too much of the announcing about Sam!
High Point is 15 miles from my house, can't wait.......
This is a Grand Prix boat.......

This is the Grand Prix I like..;) I love the paint job and this boat always has the most perfect running attitude.
In case anyone didn't know, this is Mike Schuberts SST120. :D

Mike's boat has a Grand Prix capsule but the rest of it was built by Mr. Newman in Texas... Does run good though... I am obviously a fan of Grand Prix boats since i race one they handle great and are fast

Shaunoops!! I was under the impression that it was a Grand Prix that was wrecked and repaired by Newman. Anyway, it is for sure a good looking boat.
Hope you and Todd can have some better luck for the rest of the season. Both of you guys deserve a win soon!;)

Shaun:
That's awesome that you're going to drive Johns boat up in Trenton. It'd almost make it worth the drive up there to watch.
GOOD LUCK!

Jim,
You and Kelly will be at The SOO, won't you? And I think that you're forgetting about High Point, as well.

Mark: We arent gonna make the Soo race. Kellys' got work restrictions and that would make 3 wks in a row. APR has been begging and Sam is kinda P.O.'d were not coming. Thats the breaks.
St Louis coming up then High Point then there is a conflict between Aurora with APR and Warsaw Ky with Champ Boat on the same wk end! Bad planning double schedule both 8/18 & 19.
Drive on down to StLouis race and hang out if nothing else.
See Ya! Pitboss 77
