It has been a couple of years since Joe joined BRF. He and his friends have enjoyed this site tremendously. The site gives all racers, old and new, and the fans something to look forward to every day. Speaking of looking forward to something........The Depue Reunion. WOW!!!! This reunion brought a lot of people back together again. What joy and comradery all the people that attended experienced. Joe took great pleasure in burning all those DVDs that I put together. He choose all the pictures and we painstakingly went through them to make sure that they would look ok.

Joe always wants other people to enjoy themselves and took great pride in helping make the reunion a success along with Ron, Wayne and countless others. All the work and effort was worth it. I wanted to take a moment and thank you all for MAKING IT HAPPEN!!! So, the Lone Star Boat Racing Reunion was a huge success and it paved the road for the success of the Depue Reunion. Here again, without this web site, all of this would never have happened. Many of BRF members did not know the first thing about computers. This is another added benefit of the site. Most have learned how to scan and post pictures and add comments to BRF. Thanks again guys for starting this site and running it like you do. The respect that everyone has for one another cannot be found anywhere else. I know that you must be proud.

Russ - Joe truly appreciated your humor. Said you had great BS. You know that he majored in BS. He really likes it when he can be challenged.

Joe soaked up every minute that he could at the reunion and has the pictures to show for it. Between Wayne and Joe, they must have taken over a thousand pictures.

Well, I just wanted to say a few words, but you know women, a few words just won't do........:D

..........he did major in BS. And we had plenty both going, coming and while we were there. One remembrance that comes from the reunion is the first night on the road when we stopped about an hour from Marshall Grant's. Now keep in mind I was on the road with Joe off and on going to races for about 14 years. From when he started traveling with us in 1969 until 1973 (when we started staying in our own rooms) , we often slept in the same room with my Dad. It depended on how many were going as to how many rooms we got, but it came about that Joe and I shared a large bed with my Dad in another and Jack Chance on a rollaway, or maybe me. Jack and I were the only ones short enough for a rollaway. :D We did this while traveling because we were only going to eat, go to sleep, get up and haul A.

So we get to the room that first night and it had been probably 35 years since Joe and I shared a room. It was about 10:30 pm or so when we got inside the room. The first thing Joe said as we threw both our bags on the bed was, "Wayne....you remember how we always tried to get to sleep as quick as we could?.......Before your Dad went to sleep?" And Joe had that big grin followed by his laugh. When I looked at him with a knowing smile and started to laugh, he answered his own question. "If we didn't......Baldy's snoring would keep us up half the night.":D :D :D .

DePue brought back lots of memories.
