wow easy......
He is right, I love Champ boat but, web site really is not our best asset.
There should be tons of pictures from every race, for fans and especially because of sponsors….this way its like race never happened.
We need any help we can get and internet/web site is one of the best tools you can use to advertise.

Champboat once said they had lots of photographers to choose from, and didn't need the professional guys I invited to come. The exact words were, "Photographers are a dime a dozen". :( So I don't understand the lack of ambiance.

Have not spent much time on this web site...know a lot of you guys who are posting...but I am a huge fan of tunnel boat racing. Have been the chaplain with the PROP/Champboat guys for the last 13 years...never missed a race! have been with APR for 5 years, I believe.
Yeah, it is tough Champboat is not going to San Diego. But, there are reasons for that happening that are internal issues among constituents of tunnel boat racing I don't feel are best discussed on a forum like this. Suffice it to say, good friends disagree and have to follow their conscience as to what they feel they need to do.
On the Champboat web site discussion...I think what Curtis is trying to say is Champboat and Mike Schrieffer have their hands full in the midst of the season dealing with developing a product that we all know is not the easiest product to develop. Is the web page all it can be?...certainly there is more that can be done with it, but there are pressing priorities that are more important in running a series than that at this time.
On top of that we have just suffered through a tragic boat racing accident with Wyatt Nelson that has taken a lot of time and energy for many of us communicating behind the scenes with family members and friends of boat racing anxious to know Wyatt's status. Nobody knows about all that has been done by key people and ongoing arrangements being made to express support to Wyatt.
So, Curtis, love you man...but lighten up a little there! And whoever this taco bell dude or dude-ess is...lighten up as well and realize Champboat is becoming...is not all it will be but is moving in postive directions for the development of Champ class racing.

...and to think I am seriously considering getting involved in this sport??????????
Glad I teach 4th graders :D

catndahats,
Good words, wise words...
And...this is a great sport with a ton of wonderful people involved...you would be a blessed person relationally and competition-wise if you did get involved.

One thing of those who started in kneelers, they have a lot of passion for what they are doing. Don't mistake passion for dirty work. Sometimes it takes harsh words for reality to set in.
Welcome to BRF Laurie, we are glad you could join us

I guess I should lighten up! They do need more pics but it is alot better than the old site! They only had 12 days in between races, well about 7 days at the office to update the site before colorado. They do need more pics and vidios on the site but it doesn't suck.
Tim if you come type on this key board you would get tiered of hitting the space bar perfict so that it works. It is an odd shapped key board and if you don't hit the space bar in the center it doesn't work!!!:p

Hey Nate, your right down the road from me. I'm in Friendswood.
Thanks for your thoughts on kneelers David. Hows that FE running? Haven't seen alot of ya'll since the short course natinals in Alix when we brought the big cooking pot. Had alot of fun but wanted to jump in a boat! ;)
Toco bell, I apologize for being so harsh. I tend to be a little hot headed from time to time. A trait I could have gotten from my dad! LOL.:D

I'd like to be there to hear you speak before the races in Orange, Laurie....I know who I want riding shotgun when I get out on the water one day.
Gave me a good idea for a sponsor!
Howdy from Seabrook to Friendswood, too!

Nate,
There are two things you can count on at a tunnel boat race. First, great racing and Laurie and Jan. Once you get your boat Laurie rides shoot gun with everyone. He is the only reason my wife allows me to go to these races, with her knowing that if any situation arises that needs a helping hand he and his wife will and can handle it.
Every driver gets his 10-20 second private time with Laurie before the race and it’s a nice calm before the storm. On a rare occasion he might even throw in a little prayer for some extra speed. I can’t speak for all but I think most of us enjoy that one on one with someone that has no favorites and wants you to do your very best no matter if it’s fighting for first or for last place. As he would say “we are living life to our fullest potential so go for it and enjoy”

I can't seem to beat that one boat, the baby blue colored one with the ugliest windshield I have ever seen. Maybe next year I will bring some more game to the plate ;)
Nunez, bring yer azz to Shelbyville and maybe you can go for a run in a real boat instead of those sit down sissy boats. :D :D Bring the sissy boat too, we will swap rides :D And of course, bring that big pot-o-food.... good eats right there.
Lets see, on the short course the 120 ought to be good competition to the SEH..... Well maybe.
Tell everyone there I said hey. Pick ya up kneeler so you can come play with NBRA a little more. I think Lucas might be looking around right now. Crazy azz kid. He flew that E Mod Hydro around the course that one year... thought for sure his was gonna bust his butt. I think he obtained his pilots liscence that year...

It’s an honor to know these wonderful people.
Not too many people know but Laurie helped me tremendously to find my first race boat and introduced me to a wonderful word of Champ Boat racing. I love Laurie’s little stories from life, and his Chapel service on Sunday morning, but most of all when I’m all strapped in my boat and waiting in line for a ramp just before the final race and adrenalin starts pumping in, Laurie climb on the deck of the boat to say a little short prayer for safety and fun……that’s just priceless.
That’s just one small part of what Laurie and Jan do for us at the race.
It’s an honor to know these wonderful people.

Laurie, I can't wait to get to see you again in Orange. My oldest daughter and I enjoyed listening to you Sunday morning at Port Neches. Very nice to have a guy like yourself at the races!
This is Sydney and myself at Port Neches..:D
