Last night we had our big Silsbee Hot Rod show and cruise. I took the family out to see all the cars and show off the race boat with flyers to pass out for the Orange race in two weeks. We had lots of fun and everyone loved the Tri-Hull. We met lots of people who didn't know about the races coming up and are excited about coming out to watch.
Thought I'd share a couple pictures. I bet I told 150 people about BRF! Gotta love it!;) :D

Tim,
You are doing what so many just talk about! Congratulations, you saw an opportunity and you are being an ambassador for the sport.
And, what a great looking family you have...

I have a couple more pictures I thought I'd post. Just showing off the family now.:D :D
In pic #3, make sure yur vicious attack dog is controled by the little gentleman in the truck bed. He looks like he is in the attack position...........Great pics, great family, wonderful experience for all.

Tim your evening is what my daughter reminded me, last weekend, what she liked about boat racing...Doing things as a FAMILY... Your "PASSION" for the sport is GREAT....Family, Friends, and Fun...We have a Sport to Save....building it from the ground up....one Tri Hull at a time...
I have been favoring "Classic" Boat Shows at all of our races...I've thought "Classic" cars would be good, too...Each event needs to be a "HAPPENING"......

...in the public's eye!
Personally, one of the draws to boat racing is having something to do as a family, an event to attend. I agree with Ron's daughter, and my wife says the same thing.
Taking the boat out last night to the car show was brilliant and made me think!
Just to plant a seed in folk's head: How about approaching your local Home Depot, Grocery store, mall (Parkdale Mall in Beaumont, Tim:) ), etc....offering to park your boat out front with a banner announcing upcoming events, flyers about the classes, racers, maps to race locations, take pictures of kids in your boat and send them free via email using a digital camera---it's free (to build a spectator data base) Maybe give a $1. off coupon to be redeemed at the race site for a t-shirt, drink, or admission, etc...
With the right approach, and some luck, local businesses might go for it. Everyone keeps saying they want more exposure, support from sponsors and community, so get up and do something about it. I don't have a boat (YET) but I'll volunteer my time to hand out brochures, guard your boat, etc...over in my area. Most likely the worst that will happen is you will get a lot of sticky fingerprints on your boat while building a lot of good will.

Tim,
Great idea, we have a little car show here on weekend nights I thought about taking my boat too ,I think I will:)
All of us are going to have to do stuff like this, that is what I have been talking about,, step out of the Boat(box) and do something , and do something unique, try some new stuff, what's the worst that can happen.
Cross over audiences, people like fast stuff Cars, Bikes ,yes even boats.
You da man Tim
