Possibly a Hallett. The raised, round gunnel section is similar.

369, thanks for the reply, any pics on the halletts with this hull design ?.....more input/info on the flatty, it was registered in Michigan as a home made(vin # on reg). Its a fiberglass hull with a wood deck, not the type of boat made in the garage at home.So that make me think is a old racer put on the water for fun. When i re-gasketed the v drive unit the people a Casale said it was purchased in 1973 by a person named AL KRUGER ? they had no more info other then that and the last person to reg the boat in Michigan in 1993 was RON LE MARBE ? Sorry for not posting this info with the pics.

Thanks MIKE

Mike, give us a few photos of the bow of the boat, profile and 3/4 front. Then shoot a couple from high behind into the hull and show us the stringer arrangement and then the front bulkhead in front of the seats. The instrument panel will help, too. Another shot of the inside of the transom from the front with the rudder mounting as well.

The fact that it has a fixed cav plate leads me to believe it's pre- 1966/67 or so...even earlier. Does it have rectangular steel tanks or are they 'glass units tabbed in place?

All this helps to ID these things closer. There were instances of hulls being laid up by one outfit, then a deck builder (Harlin Orrin comes to mind) that would build a custom deck for an individual or small custom manufacturer. It would then be rigged and delivered, or may even have been rigged by the owner himself. There's a Stevens down the road from me that was purchased semi-rigged and the buyer put the driveline, tanks, and seat upholstery in it himself back in 1965. His son owns it now.

Hope we can help!

Dave

Hallet center deck. the #17 is a Hallet with a long 9' deck. Curved rear sure identifys it for me. They make a great all around boat and a good circle boat, this one has 396 power and wins almost all the time! Boat is in Eureka Montana.
