As they did an awesome job the entire weekend! They listened, watched the flags and out for each other and most of all had FUN!
We have a great group and looking forward to Parker and even more joining us! Maybe Allie (Ann's Grand-Daughter).

Thanks to all the parents, friends, Uncles & Grandparents who worked so hard- Bunker Hill, Jim & Donna Rich, Bobbie Peebles, Roger Carr, Doug Rea, Chris Henderson, Ron & Chad Hill, Angie Rea-Henderson, etc.

COngrats to Jared "Iceman" Wallach!! JAred won 4 straight heats and looked like a "Top Gun" pilot! Merlee Hill in her first ever race drove very well and only slightly edged out Amanda Rich for 2nd, the two young ladies had some great racing and the whole beach was watching as Marlee got wet down by Amanda in some incredible racing action!! You all did incredibly well and and everyone is proud of you all!!

Although the J—Junior class race ran off quite smoothly, there were some major issues not adequately addressed by the officials, crews or the public.

First, there was a problem getting two of the four entrants on plane and a black flag was necessary. It was not clear why KT Schwab was unable to get onto a plane, but Amanda Rich’s problem was simple: she had a wedgie. In those Life-Line suits, that can be a MAJOR issue. Her crew chief and sponsor, Ron Hill made some minor adjustments to kickout and engine height he thought would fix the problem, but her mother fixed the wedgie and she jumped onto a plane.

In the first heat Marlee Hill over took Amanda and moved into second. When Marlee returned to the pit, she wasn’t too pleased that Amanda had sprayed water in Marlee’s face on the over take. The good news is that Marlee/s hair had dried in the next couple of laps.

I’m not clear on the rule here, but if you think further on this spray issue, you could see a potential problem. What would have happened had Marlee been wearing mascara? And what if her helmet were too small and more of her long blond hair hung out. Should the rules allow her to carry a hair dryer?

See, Jared Wallach what happens when you don’t have these problems—you just win the boat race. You didn’t need help tucking your hair into the helmet. You didn’t have to help anybody get their suit aligned. Is this gender discrimination?

I think I know why she did not get on plane....Her engine was only making 9HP from the lack of torque after the use ot the choke collar, along with a 15° set back transom and we set her engine at 1.375 and flat. We can do the 1.375 OK, but we will need to kick her in at least 1/4". Lets also remember the bottom cylinder ( the one that discintigrated a piston) has ran 175 hotter than the top since I've been logging data. I'm betting uneven fuel distribution, but who knows.....

Now, as far as J goes....I propose this....Since KT and Marlee are the bigger kids, we really need to hook up an AXS class. Plus, the boats will plane, no matter where you set the engine..... Any A driver can step down to make the points, and Jeff Conant told me he would be glad to do so, and I'm sure we might get Tammy to do the same. Secondly, we need a scale. I'm fairly cinfident KT and Marlee are 5-10 over, and I'm betting Jared is a tad under. He had a good 3-4 MPH on the field, not to take anything away from his credits by saying so, he drove awesomely!

Skoontz,

Don't worry about that technical crap. Wrenches are a dime a dozen. Did KT's helmet properly match her boat color? Should Life Line make safety suits in designer colors?

Good boat racing will only continue as long as it's fun. As long as the participants enjoy themselves.

the "choke collar" has nothing to do with your engine problems, everyone else gets it to work. BTW, 5-10lbs over does not make any difference, even "IF" Jared was 10 under..........I've raced 20SSH in the past being close to 50lbs over and still have won a few races and beaten much lighter rigs (even old Gary Lewis once or twice).......they "say" 20lbs equals 1MPH, but I am not too sure of that.........maybe corner speed, but top end I doubt.......

BTW, I doubt you have a fuel restriction, as the OMC motor shares the same set of reeds for both cylinders and with gravity involved, the bottom cylinder will get fuel, if the top one does........barring the possibilty of incorrect assembly.........

I'll know more this weekend when I disassemble the motor as to why and what....I'm at the time going with Gstillwells post, perhaps the piston broke, it makes no sense that the pistons both move freely and as they should, then squeek and stick in the bottom hole. We shall see.....She did not plane because of set up, and/or her engines was starting to let go at that point....
