Tim is at my house, so he is not doing all the posting he would do from home.
It just isn't as much fun on cousin Corey's computer.
We have been getting up early and going to work.
Things will get back to normal soon.

Nate, you going racing in 08 or what? Hope to see you out there. We have a dallas driver who went out west to pick up a 45 and came back empty. Poor guy selling it blew it over the week before and killed the deal, too much damage. But if he finds a boat, i would say 80/20 he will, and you jump in... 7 texas 45's. Doug, is DKL racing going to hit the road next year? Be nice to have you up North for a race or two. Personally, I plan to swap the bay city race for a west coast 45 race earlier in the year. That back to back dallas to detroit trip was a spanking. 45 had a strong year hope y'all come back in 08. Lots of fun, good turnouts and very little drama.

I'm still hopeful for 2008....whether in 45sst, or maybe a trihull with a fishing motor--including a fully stocked and tricked-out Igloo cooler (for medicinal purposes) to sit on, a bimini top/rollbar, and rod holders;)
I keep getting excited thinking I have to buy the first boat that comes along...but then sanity usually prevails and I calm down again---and I still believe the right boat, right location, at the right price will come along before 2008...I don't have much time to travel to look at boats right now.
And, I think I know the boat out west you were talking about. I was talking to a guy out there too...after the crash, the pieces of the boat are still for sale. :( I hope we can get at LEAST two more boats here in TX...not sure what your friend wants, but there is an old grand prix here in TX. for sale.
IF and when I get a boat, I'd be more than happy to go out to CA to race during the summer months. It is a long drive but an easy drive from TX....I still have tons of friends and family out there, places to stay, and the entire summer off. Maybe having summers off is why teachers make so much money...:D

Ruben,
I do intend to do as many as possible local and otherwise, I don't get real excited about driving to Michigan though, especially back to back races. My hats off to those guys who come from Canada and far North to race with us down here. I like the idea of doing a race out west also, maybe that can happen, those guys get to race on glass slick water from the pics I see on here. :) That big race ,, where was it San Diego might be nice
I have unrigged my boat and it will go to somebody for bottom repairs this winter. I fought it the 3 races here and can't anymore, 4 laps and I have a gallon or more water in the boat, after the main in Orange I had at least 3.
I got splits/cracks in the bottom in numerous places.:(
So 124 gets a overhaul, maybe a paint job(maybe) and I'm working on some power. My Intentions are to be out there but first the problems have to be addressed (the right way) then game on!!:D
What if there was a way to get all 50 or so 45's together , West coast, Florida, Texas, all the guys up North,,,,,, Man now that would be a race!!! two flag start of course:D

I volunteer to help John layup the new boat. I'll help make sure it is plenty strong. I think the best way for your new boat to be built is to use 1-2 layers of 1 1/2 oz mat on the bottom and 20-30 layers of woven roving for the deck. You dont want the deck to flex when you walk on it.
