Merc 60 J

We are trying to restore and then to bring around to various races an example of every Stockoutboard Motor built by Mercury. While waiting for our 30H and 55H and while awaiting parts for a 20H I started the restoration of a 60J. With only 30 psi in each cylinder it appears new pistons and rings are needed. Standard size rings are available from "Old Mercs" but is there a supply for the pistons?

I'd disassemble and inspect the pistons and bores before I sought new std sized pistons ... you might be looking for a nice used 6 hp donor motor ... there must be thousands of them out there
