Im wondering if any body out there has run a LTV with an ET prop and injected 2.4 Bridgeport? If so what were the results better then a cleaver? Also anybody that has run one with a hoss triton 1 and gone to ET? Id really appreciate any input as Ive run v-bottoms and true tunnels but never a mod-vp I understand Lasers mod packs a lot of air about 95-100. Thanks in advance as I dont like wasteing money and I dont like to get wet. Exlakexdriver

i drag raced them needle nose hulls for a lot of yrs
we built them after roarke quit making them
ran unlimited set up,,,,,
fully ported alcohol mota with nitrous and 12" with speedmaster
they are a drive with respect boat
by time you are at 70 it better be flat from there on
when i river rode with full size gearcases
the best working prop for me was the yamaha drag ,,,,,
nothing else would compare
all the big eared props just dont work as well
the thin narrow blades allows slippage and doesnt bite so hard
so allows boat to track better excelling with out getting too loose,,or pulling transom too high
running split shaft and 2 hole cle for full size is good combo,,,sportmaster has torque tab more drag and little slower ,,but safer
i liked the xs150 2/1 gearcase with 25 pitch best,,,,but does not have a lot of life,,but fast,,,,and as loose as the speedmaster,,just not as much speed
great for 1/8 mile
that set up on the hull is hard to beat from 0-100
drive it with respect
especially if running over 200hp
from 80 on theres no playing around in them hulls
driving safety equiptment, wind and water conditions better be right
they were made for max lift at 80mph and 200 hp motor
for mod vp
so when push above be readdy
have fun with it
i like the hulls a lot
and stilll have 2 here

i ran these boats from 1983 to mid 1990s
i dont think any1 else put in as much seat time in 1 more than me
the drag version i built for me had a 1 man canopy on it from the original 1st design stv pickle that raorke made
so was a total flat deck with the canopy and a coming wall with wind deflector at motor
then added a 6" pad on top of the original 10"center pad
cut the outer pads up another 1"
so when broke over ran on the center 6" pad only
so with speedmaster and unlimited mota could imagine how fast it would excell
ron hill will like this prop we made for the boat
when i ran the xs 150 case i loved this prop
it was a solid hubbed prop like the speedmaster props but was over 15" round
bauman here in houston cut the blades narrower and thinned
made it a 25pitch 14" copy of a speedmaster cleaver
i never got beat with the boat on the river
for many yrs,,,had to race blown jets and vs
had a lot of fun
and never blew over that hull after my changes and modifications
and it saw over 130 with the speedmaster set up
so they can be ran hard
but a lot needs to be done when wanting to break the 100 mark
the hull will do it easily
but please be set up for racing if go there
unprepaired playing is where things happen
here is a photo of the prop
i still have it
as you can see the blade area was cut down at hub
and the wide part of the blade is in the center then thinned to the tip
gave a lot of slippge out of hull to get rpm up
and grabbed more as hull aired out
neck snapper,,,didnt lift hull,,hull lifted naturally with speed
as of today i havent found another that goe from 0-100 faster
the yamaha is the best store bought prop to work close to this
i ran a 24 and 26 yami mostly,,,,and this 1 for when
making hard passes

I raced an LTV in ModVP to US-2 in 1984. Ran a 2.4 Mod VP Bridgeport with the heads cut .060" and jetting to suit. Best top end was 104 with a Mercury 30" cleaver. Ran a 28 Merc cleaver in competition. As good a boat as I ever drove. Once you got the feel of it you feel like you wear it. John, that prop looks like a 27 DAH OMC prop we used to run on JP boats in the 70s. It was an unbeatable prop on a 16' Allison.

thats is what it started as
23pitch,,,,,,
then louie bauman did all the cutting ,thinning and tweaking
till we had it right
your right ,,damm good prop,,,,
good memories
when ran full gearcase at river
could trim a tad above level
and hit throttle /nitrous and would launch boat out of the water
butt would pucker and onlookers would freek out thinking it was going to blow over at 0
but would ride the tail only excelling and bring flat before 70
as you said its like being apart of you
i drive the tunnels now and has the same feeling
less hp,,but the body feels the boat for its attitude
still a good boat today
i have some 35mm shots of what i did to the hull
when i redid the top deck with the 1 man canopy and bottom
ill see if i can convert to post
also here i have a bud that i built him a 245bp for the 600lb ski deck version this summer
he has xr6 gearcase and 24 yamaha
and he has fun up to 80 pulling pickles with 260s and backs off before gets wicked

here is a dig pic i took of a 35 pic
not too clear
but can see the top deck i made for it
it had the original roarke 1st design pickle 1 man canopy
made coming walls to the transom
with a cover and wind deflector at motor
motor was on a 12" mid with speedmaster

yea its not the norm
i wanted no wind drag from top
and no water drag from bottom
most 3 podded boats have a 10" center and 2- 8" outers at minimum
so thats 26" of water drag
this hull i added a 1 1/2" tall 6" wide pad on top of the center pad all the way to rise at bow
and flattened the outer pads another 1/2"
so raised boat out of water another 2"
which allowed air to disapate out from sides,,which took away a lot of the want to blow over
and also gave it 3 pods to take off to stay level
but only rode on 6" pad after planed
with only 6" water drag and 375lb hull
dont need a big prop
especially that big housing for drag and blowout
was fun in its day
