As readers know I am very much a British Anzani and Harrison outboard racing engine restoration buff. I am always looking for their assemblies and parts. If you can't buy them sometimes you can swap for them?

I have a Mercury class D Quicksilver Mark 55H empty rebuildable gearcase and I got some signficant innards and spare parts what would not complete one but in cases multiples of parts that could help complete others as well as most of that one. I could sell them for cash but cash does not always get me what I want which is Anzani and Harrison stuff, so I am going to reserve this Mercury 55H gearcase stuff I was going to sell and instead I am going to reserve this stuff "strictly" for the creative swapping of the Anzani and Harrison stuff I want. Want to do some horsetrading/swapping??? because I don't believe Anzani and Harrison stuff should be allowed to sit there gathering dust un-assembled and maybe become lost and neither should this Merc H gearcase stuff do so either.:)

The door to swapping is open and I don't want to hear from anyone wanting to buy this gearcase stuff! You have Anzani or Harrison stuff and want Mercury class D gearcase stuff?............ I want to hear from you!:)

Any interest in a Harrison Cast alum clamp bracket assembly complete. This is the long one with the thrust bracket cast into it. Harrison is cast into the clamp assembly. I believe it was on some of the Harrison/ Anzani engines.....Bob N-96

These pictures are of the last Merc D gearcase shell with enough parts to complete it as a whole complete ready to use gearcase plus a host of spares for other Merc D lower units. This stuff has been reserved for swapping purposes only with readers that have Anzani or Harrison stuff to swap.

Enjoy the pictures. :)

So far there has been swapped an empty Merc 55H gearcase shell, tailcone and bearing set for a Harrison clamp set and tower. There seems to be some more activity from at least two other sources pending. It reaffirms that some readers like to swap a bit. Thanks guys! :)

Now if the rest can be swapped away would be cool. The stuff in the pictures here are still available for some creative swapping.

The Merc 55H gearcase pictured has a tailcone and inner threads problem that makes the go together too loose. WHo does that sort of repair work these days with an oversize cone and re-thread and how can I get ahold of the repairer to make arrengements to get the fix? It will make for a better trade item assembled afteward.

As of this morning, the complete stock racing Mercury Mark 55H gearcase pictured here completely apart with all its components and in bare aluminum finish has been traded away. :)

The only stuff left to trade mutually for Anzani or Harrison odds and sods are the odd components left over as spares for these 55H gearcases as already pictured. Contact me by email with further swap offers.

Swapping this Mercury D gearcase stuff off for Anzani and Harrison stuff has resulted in everything going. Nothing left in terms of the pictured Merc gearcase stuff as of this January 1st 2008 morning!! I never knew swapping could be still so popular. Thanks readers and posters. :)

If I run into anything like this again in the future, I think I will engage in some creative swapping again.

Incidentally I still have Merc 30 cube and 44 cubic inch blocks (sorry I do not have any Merc 40 cbic inch blocks or pistons left anymore) and parts innards to make complete blocks from new NOS and well as good used parts and they are for sale but if someone wants to do some swapping I won't mind hearing what they have in mind too.:)
