I was following the leader's with my camera. Buddy was running probably 3rd or 4th down the back straight. I heard the crowd all go... OOOOOHHHH...at the same time. I started scanning back until I saw Buddy. By the time I got my first shot off, he had already hit the water and the hydro was on the way down.

Good piece of detective work. When I used to race runabouts me & the boat parted ways frequently. I always saved the one shoe, thinking the next time I flipped I would lose the other shoe. I never did. I always lost the left shoe. Had 6 or 7 pair of right shoes before I quit runabouts. Looks like Buddy lost a right shoe. Wonder what size he wears? Which brings up an interesting idea. Maybe the racers should save the leftover shoes and take them to the swap meet as well.
