Melinda was 19 in this picture. In the race she drove a single engine Schultz. She was second to Jimbo at the pit stop. Her dad took over and later blew over.
Mac McCune owned the Johnson Distributorship fom the Rockies West, or Southwest of the U.S.A. OMC bought his distributorship out. Mac was killed at the Parker 9 Hour in a Velden Hull with a Johnson V-6, I'm going to say 1980.
Around 1968, Melinda married Johnny Sanders.
Melinda's brother Tom runs a prop shop in Colorado, I talk to him now and then...
Melinda didn't run a lot of races, but trust me, having driven twin Evinrude V-4's, three of them suckers on the back of anything took some courage to drive it...
Tom and Mac beat Ted May and me in Paris, 1968....They were second, Renato Molinari was eight laps ahead of us!!!!
