They appear on eBay about every 6 to 12 weeks if you watch closely.
Lower end pitch is rare, upper end (15 to 22) is a lot more common. Remember 15 at 1:1 is the same as 30 at 2:1 ..... 80+ mph. Your boat has to be capable of 80+ or you will lug the motor and burn pistons left and right. 10" diameter and larger doesn't really fit a Merc; they fit the Chrsyler racing lower unit. Best diameter for a Twister will be 9 and some fraction.
Which of the 3 Twisters do you have?

i have a few twister props
they did make 10" for them motors
gear ratio on a twister case is 1.25 to 1 also
commonly used on the later model high hp twister
and the original 140 motor which was the 1st v-6 design 12" mid with twister gearcase
i have 3 mercury cleavers right hand rotation
a 10" x 16,,,,,9 3/4 x 17 ,,,,,,9 3/4 x 19
that have never been dinged or repaired
that i will let go,,,,,,

The 1.23:1 gears were made for the 650x and 700x; I have never heard of anyone using them in a Twister. The standard gear ratio for the later Twisters was 14:15 (1.07:1) with 1:1 as the option.
10 inch diameter will only fit if you saw off the exhaust snout ... some of the last Super Speedmasters did come that way.

if that was the ratios
then im wrong,,,,,
ill believe a man that knows the vintage motors
what i do know is i had 3 twister gearcase
all 3 was 1.25 turns of the drive shaft to 1 turn of the prop
thats how i checked them 20 yrs ago
i dont keep up on the vintage motors
i bought the stuff many yrs back and ran mid and cases on a v-6 drag boat
in the 80s
and they were super speedmasters with the snout cut to fit the props
and still have the 3 to sale
if he wants them
their just laying on a shelf

13:16 gears does sound like a good idea for drag racing :) ... a little more grunt to get out of the hole ;)

Ian, Are you still looking for these? I have two 15 pitch, 3 blade twister props, one is a cleaver and one is a rounded-ear type. Both are very nice, I am not sure of the diameters right now but I will check if you are interested.

I used to run a 13:16 gearcase on one of my T2's. I have heard from different people that said they did not make one for the T2's but I owned one for years and a friend of mine still has it and I also have an old Merc catalog that lists them for the inline 6's.It shows a different part # for the 6's and the 650x/700x.

I've been looking and I still haven't found a Merc part number that says it has 13:16 and a 6 cylinder driveshaft. The pieces do fit and can be assembled, but to my knowledge, no 6 cylinder SSM's came from the factory with 13:16.

The part number would be interesting, but a photo or scan of the literature that says it is a 13:16 for an inline 6 would clear it up for me.

Ask and ye shall receive. Hopefully this is clear enough to read. Never sure when you resize things. Part # is 1624-5249A9.
