Could this engine race in the US ?
Selva 2 Cylinder 489cc. Commercial Engine had 30hp this was rumoured to be a racing motor ported before the liners were fitted by Selva.
Leg length from saddle to tip of nosecone is about 13.5"
If so what class would it fit into. I cannot race it in europe would it be of interest to anybody.

The only class it could race in in the US is O-500 with the 180 hp Rossis & Arens

Are there more? Do you know where the patterns are for these motors?
I'm interested in this motor.

Ron, there are many more. This motor and several other small racers raced in Europe. The next time you are in nothern Italy, you can look them up:

I spoke with the factory about a year ago to try and find out more. While I got a parts book and owners manual for the power head I couldn't get any info on the leg or lower unit. The very nice man on the phone said it had been built by the racing division which was now disbanded. It is a really nice thing cleverly made to be adaptable to different powerheads. I was thinking I might give the Chairman a call and get a set of dillon plans for his mini cat. If you can use it I'm sure we can come up with swapsies. Wonder how the leg would go powered by electric..........

Mike Wienandt had a Selva motor that was being considered in the OPC category. He may still have it in his basement.
