How similar - or different is the mod 50 tuner , from the 56 incher tuner ? I guess the SST 60 tuna is different from the rest ? Where does Charlie Tuna fit in here ? Just digesting all this; OMC musta made a Bazillion different Tunas ? (for 3 cylinder 49 &56 inchers ? )

the 56er is the lowest one in the shot, mod50 and sst60 tunas are welded to the addapter, sst60 is like a square cow bell, got a twist in it, a bit of rectangle.
i made the 56er in the shot from a 20" mid. the sst60 addapter got cast in solid mounts, and steerin bar mounts too.
i tryed another 20" mid one, i don't like it, i want to start with an SST60 one.

Sorry took so long its for the 4 lug shaft i found it on a 87 70hp it would be cool to use you could build all kinds differnt kinds of pipes and will bolt on.The down side is ya still have to build soild mounts for it
Fast Fred

cool, what ya need for it, no problem on the mounts. see the one under the lower unit, that was a 20" adapter, i cut it down but it don't line up well,
20" addapter is taller than the 15", what you got? a 15", a 20", is it a cut down, hows the bace gasket linein up?
i'll kick around some more lookin for an SST one, maybe even buy a new one, see if thay made any, or i'll trick out this one you got Whitey. i baged some shots of the stock tuna. it's for a new SLT, Xclass hull. I need to hear it thumpin soon:eek::cool::eek:

All 56 inchers were LONG shaft , except SST60's. 70 horse 49 inchers were all long shaft, EXCEPT in 1974 , i saw a 1974 short shaft 70 in the shipping box ,when new in 1974 at a local dealer. He got it by MISTAKE, and returned it to Johnson for a long shaft. I repeat , you need to cast your own .

i hear ya, but thare are factors that make it not a good idea for this project.
one factor is i don't even have a crucible, another is time... guna be showtime for it vary soon. allreddy tossed $$$ at that 20"er only to look at it and say i'm not usein it.
it's not mine, best to use somethin factory until i got a made, and tested part.

ya but what about the megaphone a std 20 its long and thin, the sst 60 looks a lot different?
Anyone got the dimensions of the sst 60 megaphone? The rule book only has the length.
Nice to get the lower pan mounts and the sold mounts as well
