Here's a few shots of the smaller Inboards going oops. At most of the Inboard races I attend, I'm on the course with my friend Keith Savory of Region 10 Rescue. Sometimes I get the shot and then end up at the crash site seconds later. That adds a twist to things, like one's emotions. And shooting from the middle of an Inboard course is a challenge. Here's a couple of Jon Zimmerman going through the spin cycle in 2.5 Stock - Rob Alliger in the gray boat.

The Region 10 Inboard clubs are kind enough to include us on the schedule at 1-2 races a year. A couple of years ago, sometime outboarder Jeff Bernard found another boat in his lane during a typical 5 Litre start (parental guidance suggested); neither boat was really damaged. :o

This race at Black Lake in Olympia had a great turn out, as Nationals were the next week in Renton. I had a brand new camera the weekend, and got a lot of great shots of the racing action (Charlie Marquardt and the late Lance Faulkner deck to deck four times a day - wow). And of course a couple of dumps. The first two show Wayne Howard hooking and rolling Dick Sanders' GNH-136. The second pair is of a 5 Litre from California catching fire during testing. It became a near Keystone Kops episode when the driver brought the burning boat back to the pits. It continued to burn for a couple of minutes as people poked at it with 11 foot poles.

Good shots Cameraboy. Never around inboards much--too far south. Always liked to watch them run. I have long ago memories of Bill Sterrett in his 7 liter pounding the rough water and his helment hitting the stearing wheel and rebounding, but his foot always was steady on the throttle. Send more pictures.

The first shot is Rob Lisk in the midst of an inside roll in the E-27 in 2001 at Tastin' & Racin'. Rob's father Val, the boat owner, passed away just recently.

The second shot is an early unlimited light getting really light. Phil Bononcini doing the aerials in 1995 at one of the common blowover spots at Lake Washington, right at the unlimited pits.

The final shot is Doug Jancura at TnR in 2002 in a Super Stock. Doug survived this one, but we lost him a year ago in a testing accident.

I'll do some outboards next week if I have time - we've got our first race of the season next weekend.
