Question...Have a lightn'in et, 26"...I run it on my 1250# 16' Laser, wit 200HP 2.4, in DSRA SS...it iz the quickest prop ov all sofar...BUT, it is too agressive out tha hole!!...I know my lil boat will leeve harder, but less violent...It actually throws tha boat out tha water, then bites so hard, it loads tha motor to the point rpm's fall off too much(down to 4000)...Now, don't git this wrong, it still leeves az hard az any boat out there, and even harder than sum, but I thank if it left smoother, kept up tha rpm, it should be even quicker out tha gate...And, if tha bottom it messed wit, would it hurt top end, and if so how??...Yea, I'm a prop dummy...REX

T-Rex, your e-mail is the kind I usually delete. The answer is simple...there is no BUENO! In Mexico they ay "BUENO" when things are good... Capnzee and me have always said, "There is no wayneno"...
Props have been know to shift. I've felt the flex, then gain their pitch back...My dad use to intentionally set one blade ahead of the other, he said one blade was for excelleration and one was for top end....
I have to be honest with you, I've never been to an OUTBOARD DRAG RACE...
I'll also admit, O.F Christner (Of Quincy Welding Fame) always said he was "JUST A WELDER"... Well, I'm just a BLACK SMITH. I've ruined many a prop in my day by working on it. I've also made some good one..
There has to be the perfect wave, at least surfers think so. I believe there must be the perfect prop.
Those PRO STOCK (CAR) RACERS make about a million runs changing manifolds and such... seems to me, you'd make a run, pitch the prop out, hammer on the mother and take another run....
My dad and I would work two at a time...One on the boat, one he'd pound on. Rub them with lipstick, cheap kind, not the non smear, and see where the blade is working. You may find work blade doing more work than the others.
RUle of thumb, though...seem a prop never goes faster than the smallest blade, but RPM's light the biggest blade... Three props on one thre engine boat...speed of smallest prop, RPM of biggest...26, 28 and 30...Speed of the 26, but RPM of the 30!!!
Promblems like your can cause a man to drink MORE!!!

Noah Leger built tha "Super Vee"...it iz a modified LTV, with a lot ov front lift taken out...it wuz an all foam boat, 18' long, and weighed in at 364#s ready for rigg'in...it wuz LIGHT, and kinna flimzy, but it would be up and and runn'in in only a few feet...Altho it wuz kinna skeery around 100 or so...never went any faster than that in that boat...It would have, but my gonadz seemed ta shrink around that speed...it would show ya 95mph in bout 600' tho...wuz reely quick, once ya got used to it...REX
