Who is the designer and who built the 5 liter E726 and 2.5 stock S67??
WOW, Inboard boat design has come a long way since the70's & 80's cabovers.
Some interesting 2.5Mods also.
The 5 liter boat won the Eastern Divisionals this past weekend in Michigan.
There is some video of the 5 liter finals on vimeo.com by Michael Pakradooni

I was told that it was built by Jon Staudacher. I just asked on the Yahoo inboard site and a reply came back saying it was Jon. The boat has been around for numerous years and has undergone numerous renovations. Perhaps Steve Balcer did help with those renovations. I well remember Mark Burghardt, owner/driver of he E726 racing a cabover designed/built Staudacher back in the 80`s. Mark did pretty well with that ride too.

Well I can tell you first that Jon Staudacher is not dead. Second Dave Wrezinski bought the rights and plans to Staudacher boats. Steve Balcer just worked for Jon where he learned what he knows now. However he never amounted to anything LOL!!! (Just kidding Steve ) The X-Ray 5 litre was designed built and campained by John as the first of a new generation design with Mark Burghardt driving. Mark purchaced the boat after the second season. Jon then went on to design the 2.5 mods that Randy English and Don Mashburn campain. The 2.5 Stock you asked about is a Scott Liddycoat copy of that design. But they all have alot of design influence from Steve Ball who design built and drove the Dragon Fly 850cc hydro in the 70's
