No we can't make New Roads. Our next race is scheduled to be for Bay City, but if we can't find a hotel room soon, we won't make that one either :(

I looked everywhere, and now I think my Toledo shots are on my laptop. I did find some pics from Toledo by Rick Stoff....You weren't the only ones to get wet there ;)

This is Mark Majors, right at the end of that race, when the hole in his boat (Ted Gryguc's boat) just kept getting bigger and bigger until he finally couldn't run anymore. Too bad he didn't make it all the way to the finish line. Mark did a really good job trying to keep the boat right side up, but eventually the river won out.

Sorry to hear you won’t make it to the race, but I’m sure I’ll see you in later events.
PS No we were not only wet drivers that weekend also K. Shepard rolled Friday or Saturday, T. Seebold stuff + fire, and few SST-45 rolls.
Mercury leased 3 engines that weekend and all 3 got wet. (two of us and Majors)
PPS; If you can find those pictures I would love to have them for my collection.
Thanks

Hey SPN#43, I see you live in Pompano Beach, FL. Well it just so happens I live in Miami. When, and where, is the next FL race? Maybe I`ll sell a kidney to gas up my jalopy, and head out to catch you guys.

Well, after checking out my laptop too, I couldn't find any of my Toledo photos. Now, I *know* for a fact I took pics of you (or was it Ned) crashed in the turn, on the dock, as well as photos of Neds boat at the end of the weekend. But the question of the day -- where did I file them????

THEN it dawned on me why I don't have them on my PC. Because, that weekend, I was using Wayne Worthy's camera, and I gave all those disks (about 13 of them) to him. So that's why I can't find any.

A good number of those pics showed up on the Champboat web site, though.

But the only images they chose to post of you and Ned were these three. Could be that the others were not very good. You can probably ask Wayne if he still has those:

Toledo was tough on many, like Tim Seebold for instance, whose injured fuel-dumping motor erupted into flames right in front of us, while trying to limp to the pits.

But nobody had a tougher time than Ned and Page. They were banged up and bruised with two broken boats. Even one of their crew members had a medical emergency that weekend :(

Page, I really felt you guys deserved some sort of trophy after all you went through that weekend. ;)

:) Val, thanks for the effort and kind words. I’ll see Wayne this weekend and ask him if still has those pictures.
Tough time? Two blown engines, one gearcase beyond repair, two crashed boats, #44 beyond repair, fire on #44, one cracked rib (me), one cracked cheek bone (Ned), one heart attack,(crew member) and three blown tires all on very tight (no) budget, but the best fun I ever had on races.
See ya at races

:( Unfortunately there aren’t any Champ Boat races in Florida this year but you can catch some local racing and schedule can be found on www.apba-racing.com
