Danny Kirts and I were running side-by-side going to the first turn. My boat had lifted like normal with the sponsons off the water, then about 3/4 of the way to the corner the wings kicked in, the tail lifted, and the whole boat started to skate around. I got to the corner and dropped the pipes, but they stuck up on the elbows and the motor quit. I was relieved to have a dnf. The "tool trays" found a new home in a trash can in Hinton.
