Wow! A virtual Trinity helping make this thread one of the most read.
With an entire trinity of readers/posters turning up I just can't wait for this British Anzani thread to go past 18,000 views! :) Any bets as to when?
When the expansion chambers on Anzanis were featured in earlier posted pictures based on Jim Hallum's videos on Region 10 there from 1959 to 1976 there was just quiet observance by readers here but few posts but with Bill Tenney's version of expansion chambers he made for his Anzanis being posted all of a sudden there is great interest not seen before as a result of such good pictures I guess. The digital revolution and the internet are just great are they not? :)
Good Grief!! I just went back to forums section and this British Anzani thread is over 18,000 views now! How long will it take to get to 19,000?
Another picture! Of my old 128 CP 1960s Swift Big D from the 1960s with its 40H running.
Coming soon. An examination of British Anzani and HRP pistons castings.
As you know the British Anzani and the HRP Harrisons are kissing cousins across the ocean from each other. Harrison Racing Products (HRP) (Birmingham Metal Products) made the Harrison racing engines and replacement parts, pistons for British Anzani (for years) =, for itself in its Harrison engines and for some other engines as well. All three castings versions have been identified here between Anzani and HRP for Anzani and with their differences will featured in a future pictorial. In going over this information with Jim Hallum recently, he indicated that he had not had any experience in using HRP piston castings in Anzanis and had not seen a piston with a "Lodite" casting mark in any he machined and installed in any of the 250cc or 322cc Anzanis he was involved with. That he only received the genuine Anzani piston products from Bill Tenney that were either finished to spec or what he termed as Anzani piston "blanks" you could do the full machinist job on configuring skirts, port windowing, puff or boost ports in the skirts, piston crowns, ring grove(s) and ring type installations that (piston ring designs) were on the move in their technologies as well.
Something to look forward to. :)
Readers - Take Notice About These Anzani Pages.
The contents of what is pictured or written up concerning Anzanis on in these threads come from many sources very real in either historical pictorial form, video slices, articles written, experiences explained, speculations pondered or from technical sources available elsewhere through a variety of sources many of which are from the internet itself. They are for your viewing pleasures, to add your view and even your pictures of people with or working with the Anzanis. It is to do your own research supplied to you from some thought implanted with you here from what you find. Nothing given or alluded to here are absolutes but generally add direction to anyone seeing and reading that could result in some doing something on some readers part they might mention here again in an enlightening approach to share in their experience.
It is not a place for personalities or personal issues not Anzani.
Previous articles dealing with Expansion Chambered exhausts, their design and their construction were one lined and beset upon as being not accurate, misleading or in some way wrong. The expereinces of the Andersons, Hallum and Tenney are real from their perspectives. What was used here in modern day is standard historical data as well as evolutionary data for pipe making was made available to the public from pipe developers and makers from around the world. Some are good and some are better but the point is what they provide is readable, doable for the do it yourselfer as well they sell the service and ready to use pipes to you at a price. What I do falls right in the middle so that is where I come from advising others to look on both sides of the subject and make up their own minds.
All this is the essences of what British Anzani, Harrison, Quincy, OMC etc. on BRF are all about. When you see anything else, read it in context and make your own judgement calls. One thing we want here though is the participation of inquiring minds dealing with the thread and its theme. Its not a place for conflicting personalities for what ever are their reasons, so let us keep it that way.
I am requesting the board owners to clean up what went on here recently not in this threads or the boards best interests and to keep a reign on some conducts in the future as it had and has no place here.
Upcoming pages information - the Thread could double from 40 to 80 pages.
From some of the data, pictures, videos and defunct magazine materials the Anzani thread could very well double from 40 to over 80 pages of information and articles in the next year. There is also a significant amount of extra information on its cousin the Harrison as well as many other articles to enhance other threads here on BRF. Needless to say in my spare time my scanners and converter softwares are in for a lot of use.
