Mark 55H
Does the 55H use a Torrington B1112 or GB1112 on the drive shaft? I tried to use a B1112 and after installing I could not install the drive shaft. There was a B1112 in the gear case that I wanted to replace. I pressed the new bearing back out and it fit the shaft perfectly.
What gives?

i think i've had the same prob with the a-b-c-foot. when you turn the shaft does it want to move in or out of the housing. if so then i think what's happening is that the needles are getting shifted out of paralel with the shaft when it is installed. it's happend to me a few times. went round and round thefirst time. finally i decided to put it together and take it for a quick run. then pulled the foot and found that it had straightend out and the shaft turned freely. has worked for me each time. still it's a scary thing to do. hope this helps.

When driving that new needle bearing in, remember to "knock on the numbers" side of the shell--it's hardened.
