Mark Suter, do you have any Omc race stuff??
Amazing work!!!
The land-and-sea dynamite dynamometer makes a great water brake, but they are pricey.
Whatever size main jet you are running on gasoline multiply that by 1.6 and that will give you a good ball park size for your alcohol main jet with carbs. Powerabout the oil I used was Klotz Benol.
Bull I was given that same formula for alcohol and probably by the same person.
Dick, awesome work!
Sorry the attachment didn't come through. I am not upset Fast Fred I am just trying to figure out where you are getting all these horsepower numbers if you don't have access to a dyno. It's not a...

I understand finger ports and how they work. I have seen dyno results on a v6 I was just wondering how the 3 cylinder responded in comparison. I guess there are no dyno results from your response....
Could you please print and post a dyno spread sheet on this? I would love to see the the torque curves as well as the horsepower. Thanks in advance.
Which dyno software are you using? Are you set up to dyno at the propshaft or the crankshaft? In what rpm range did you see the 10hp gain? Are you set up to dyno other motors as well or just the...
Do you have a dyno or access to one?
I don't see a problem with it. All my race engines are locked down.
I am very impressed! You sir are a very talented man. Are you for hire? I have a couple of projects I would pay you to do.
Mr Austin outstanding work! You are a very talented man.
Absolutely amazing work! I've read beginning to end of this thread and all I can say is you did an awesome job! I would sign up for your engine building class today.
You don't take the gear out you take the teeth off and use it as a spacer. I have one in my v4 crossflow that I have run for years and Wilbur and Wayne Weeks did it in the 70s. It will work.
Roger, prop nut, splined washer, and thrust washer will go out Friday.
Roger, I have his number. The motor looks awesome!!! Great Job.
I hope someone comes on and clears this debate up. I spent lots of time on the phone with a lot of dead ends. I heard some neat stories but can't verify any of them, so I will set back and wait to...
Lastrom, check your pm.
Please post more v8 stuff. That video is incredible and inspiring.
They were sucessful at drag racing. I have used methanol on the omc crossflows and intend to use it on my looper. I have never fooled around much with 3 cylinders.
Liquid, here are more pics of my v8. I had to decrease the size for the site. I think I can email you at the original size. I hope you enjoy.
Wilbur and Wayne Weeks drag raced a 3 cylinder on methanol back in the lated 70's early 80's.
It is not an rc, the boat is for sale but I am going to keep the oz v8. 334-422-1661
Here is the oz v-8 at the end of the quarter mile. My v-8 has the 8 two barrell carbs.
Here it is at half track.
Here is my oz v-8 taking off.
I need the midsection and gearcase, powerhead is optional.
Which v8 do you have, the oz motor or the 6" fuelie? I tried running an oz on a short tunnel and it was some kinda ride. I am thinking of trying my ccc motor on it, maybe. Post some pics.
If your gasoline, high speed jet is correct you should be able to multiply times 1.6 and that will be really close. For example, .062 x 1.6= .0992 .062 would be your high speed gasoline jet and .093...
