It's been awhile sense I've been on here. Bateman I don't know if I can help or not, you need to try different props, at different heights, 19p prop will need to rise your motor I order to spin it,...
U may have some carbs from a earlyer model motor. the 60 carbs dont have a jet type screw beside the idle air mixture screw, its just a threaded hole, and the 90 carbs are the same way, if there is a...
The 20,25,30 35 or all 31.8 cubic in motors, the carb get bigger as u go up. We use to river race down here where we live with those motors, the guys that run them tryed lots of things to make them...
What kind of fuel mixture/oil u running?? different oils will show alittle diff. on plugs, but it does look to be lean. I think i would bump up your jets size and read them.
Them old mercury motor are some of the best motors mercury ever made, I still see people running them without any problems. Its all in how u take care of the motor, whether its a merc,Yamaha and so...
Mercury outboards motors used to be the best motors out there, (2stroke motors). Them 4strokes motors i dont care for though.
fs5 clear out your pm messages
no,,, work on the one u have. the 60 will fit yours fine, but its no different than the one u got now,(sizes wise).
Its the same, except at the top where it vents.
Look at your plugs,, it will tell u if its burning rich, by the color of them, or if its jetted to high sometimes it will four stroke or what i call (dieseling) making a fluttering sound.
looks good, ole nasons been wanting try u too, ya'll need to hook up and run, yall live close to each other.
In my opinion the stock metal reeds work the best over carbon reeds, but there not very user friendly when one brakes and it gos in the engine, and tears up things vs the carbon reeds if it brakes it...
He was a full bubble off of being plum that's for sure. His ground wire was dragging. Glad this idiot is gone.

Well said mr. Bill u r so very right. There isn't no one over here that falls for his bull Sht.
Well, haha,, u got to look at who your dealing with too,(pdt), this bum isnt dealing with a full deck, hes got some screws loose. That's for sure.
They dyno a modified 1986 250 dirt bike not a outboard motor, fuel oil ratio may vary from outboard motor.
mercguy, we been trying to get this across to him for a month,, but hes to stubborn to believe anything that anyone tells him. he don't comprehend things cause he reads what comes out of books are...
A heavy flywheel also helps the crankshaft bearing,, What a crock of sht. Gos to show phil don't have any knowledge on this topic, phil u need a ladder for that hole your digging for your self. ITS...
I agree.
The flywheels lose nothing going around bends are corners wether there heavy are been lighten up and doesn't effect the way the motor runs are idles,,and if its cavating then the props losing bite.
Phil, u not to bright between the ears at all,,, the lights on but theres no one home... u don't got the common sense god gave a piss ant, I have forgot more about this stuff than you'll ever learn,...

Very Well said omcstratos.
There it is phil the REAL DEAL. and idling too, and this isnt the best its run, the NOS isnt even hook up right here.
Klotz, KL-333 or R-50, the kl-333 burns cleaner.
u talking about cutting the sleeve window on the intake side back to the casting???
got a question,, if your motor is running wide open say at 7000 rpms are the reeds closing and shutting at every stroke,, are r they hung open???
There the same block,,( 2stroke that is),, except the for the 52ci 3cyl motors.
yes but I will have to dig around and find them old pictures of the boat and motor I had back then, yes it worked.
yep hank,, back in thoses days we would cut channels in the side of the gear case to channel the water and would sharpen the gearcase as well to cut through the water better,,mine would run around 54...
no,, Its always had some more, just didn't show it to u,, and i still got alittle more.
I got many years of doing this, so formula and theory aren't always right here ok,,,, I've done lots of time testing and tuning and set up plays a major factor on the way a boat will perform as with...
wrong on the second one, phil. sorry bout that u got me running alittle faster than I can run on my ole fishing boat. by 3mph, so there u go your figures aren't always right.
Well u off alittle on the first one, but close 60.8 on gps with a fishing wheel is bout where it runs in fishing mode,, the second one is off a lot more.
u did this with figure in the first one with 1.63 or 1.83 mind is 1.83gearcase
Ok now do the same thing with a 20pitch mercury racing cleaver just like the one in my picture at 7200 rpms.
ok,, around 7300 7400,, 1.83gear with a 16pitch fishing prop for starts, this isn't my racing prop that I use, so we'll get to that later, u don't know the heights I run my motor,, wether my props is...
Your only in your 30s and u have dedicated years to speed to boats,, hell your still wet behind the ears!!!! and u learned about engines from a man that raced for 30 years,, how can u learn from a...
The GPS don't lie either and it puts pen and paper theory out the window. PERIOD.
No i dont, and ron dont agree with u eithier, r u so blind u dont see this. I know what im running and i dont need u to calculate nothin for me, i've forgot more than you'll ever know,, this is all...
I have yet to master the art of teaching a man who refuses to listen. Ignorance is curable, stupidity is forever.
your figures and calculations are only good on paper. THATS ITS. and no one agrees with u.
u got that right ron,, end of BS and calculations and figures.
that was a good prop, I bet u still have it to. The gps don't lie, it may even hurt your feelings too. lol
What tall stories u refuring to?? facts are what they are and there not wrong, and the gps don't lie. your calculations and figures are only good on paper, that's it, on the water it a different...
david mason is right and so is omcstratos on this,, theres to many things to take in account. the ones who disagree with this has never had any experinces playing, setting up boats or racing boats...
impossible to reach with a boat on water,, I can run this speed all day long in my boat, so its not impossible.
Jeff I know where there is several of these motors, like the ones in the picture that are for sale they have white cowlings with mercury on them,, just guessing from the 50 and 60s model complete...
