you are actually pulling from all the carbs. on a 2 cyl 1 carb set up it helps to cut a window in the intake to do this. the big briggs twins like it
on some engines is a good mod to make these larger or to add them when their are none but you can ruin a good intake at the same time

you can swap them with the sleeves from a 55 seapro or take those out and weld up the slots and put the sleeves back in

a lower unit from a 115 will have a ratio of 2.07 if you switch to a 115 lower unit the tall gear will give you more speed that works better than going to a propeller with more pitch
you need to use ethanol approved gas hoses and check the jetting and retarding the timing will cause you to loose some bottom end power but i do not know if you need to do that or not the ethanol is...
