question: how do you get the ring off the flywheel? i have a 25/30 3 cyl yamaha i'm playing with. looks to be pressed on the same way as the 40. love the pics and video!
dumb question: I noticed on this build and that yamaha build thread that the block's both look like they've been sandblasted or painted silver. what kinda finish is that?
BR, take it with a grain of salt, but I'm wish FS5 on this. I think you need to go with a smaller main jet. You ought to get a set of each size down to .056 and set what happens.
I've always used yamalube but i'm looking for something better. What's everyone runnin?
......;)
the tohatsu and yamaha are 1.85. the zuki is 2.09. Where a hatsu or yami would be turning a 12p, that is about equal to a 14p on a zuki. you should at least be turning a 14p in the 6-6200 range.
...
thanks for the advice!
I'm runnin a v bottom alum jon with a 30 yamaha. what would make more speed, a hydraulic jack plate or tilt & trim? i'd love to have both but that 10" setback would kill me.
thanks

anybody know the stock reed stop height for a merc 3 cyl 59 cu in 60hp?
what year's are the "good" years for the yamaha 40? and what makes those years the good years? I'm looking at a 90' model.

2.09:1
2.15:1
Assuming all motors maxed at 6k rpm's and were the same cubic inch's. Please explain your answer if you can. thanks!

Im working on a motor for a friend and had to pull the head and noticed an exhaust guide that is held on by one bolt. If i pull it out it opens the exhaust hole and Im curious as to if it would be...
I already have the butterflies open horizontal. How do I go about changing the sensor? Will this increase performance? Thanks
What is the best way to modify the exhaust on a Suzuki DT25C? I've heard of drilling holes in it. Anything else? Is there really a performance gain or are you just moving the powerband.
