After giving it some serious thought and talking with someone over the weekend about it, I finally decided to put my Looper up for sale. I had a great time finding all the parts and doing the work,...
Everyone missed one point here. J-Dub has been in regular contact with Rich Fuchslin. Now maybe I am biased here, but I think Rich has a pretty good handle on making a 6 cylinder run, either the Merc...
OK, give me a couple of days and I will pull out a box full of old COBRA pictures as well. Now I need to get the new printer/scanner to work though.

Ray:
Alan can take a road trip east with Lauren and I.

PS I am in for a book.
Since it has CF numbers on it, they probably raced against my dad and uncle. I have pictures from the same years.

I have a flyer dated 1954 that was handed out at races and boat shows. I will scan it this weekend and post.
NCOA was formed in 1927. I would think it is one of the oldest clubs going.

Here is a picture of a D powerhead I picked up last week. I also got another D block, FD-88, which has been sold.

For a 50 year old engine, it is still a good ride, even if I don't get to hold onto the throttle.

I once blew up a V-6 that made that one look fix-able. Bob Armstrong asked me to drive his boat for him, and he told me the motor (SST-140) was "ready to race".
It turned out that it had never...
I picked this powerhead up from Harry Bartolomei's widow this morning, and thought I would share it. I do not know much about a Baretta, maybe others can help out.

Watching that brings back memories of the first few F1 races in Sacramento. There were a few shots in the video form there as well.

The real scar will be left after Ellen notices the dent in the checkbook.

About 2 years ago Jimbo and I were talking about old stuff, and he was telling me about the 727.
If I remember correctly, 727 was a "code" for something, but I cannot remember what.
Can...
I know that some of these were aslo 13:16 ratios, as my dad had one. If I remember correctly, there were not many of them. He got it from Ted May.

Let's get the class going. I have a boat hanging in the rafters that would be perfect. If 175 gets going, I would get a VRP from Litzell and put Teri in the boat.
Joe
Jack, I would guess it to be Bob. That was his number, and those are the colors I remember him running.

The only one I can answer to is Bob Larson. He is still running Larson Marine, in Stockton, CA.
Joe
Rich Fuchslin still has a complete, running Looper in their shop. I have no idea as to it's history. It is not as strong as the Steven's Merc they are currently running in 1100 runabout.

Jeff:
Where did you take the picture of the Fuchslin's 6? I am guessing Shadow Cliffs last October?????
My vote for the coolest engine would have to be a 1250BP Stacker. My dad had one around...
Go-Karts at Parker sound familiar, but that was a LONG time ago. I was probably there, since my dad was real good about taking me w/ him for stuff like that.

Does the picture of my dad and I have a date? I am guessing around 1980 or so........
Don couldn't be more than 17-18 at that time.

What in the world do you need a 1000' buoy for?
Joe
Here is another one for you, Hart Park, 1955.
The person between Henry and Chuck is Teri's dad, Bob.
Joe
Ron, here are a couple for you. We may need Freddy to name all of these people, I know 3.

Val:
It's amazing that it took me so long to figure out how street smart he was. What really sucks is that I did not figure it out till it was too late.
Joe
I never told you, but one time...
Actually, I figured it out myself. And it only took me about 30 minutes, with a lot of trial and error.
I will post some stuff of Teri and Lauren soon.
Now that I can do this, I will have to...
Ron, you got the part about asking Lauren right.
I am going to try to add a picture to this post, figured oput the scanner, so this is the next step.
the picture is Dick Scherrer in I believe...
Jack:
Great picture. If I could evert figure out how to use my scanner and attach pictures, I have a ton more like the one you posted.
Joe :) :) :)
