Sweet Glenno. You need another cat project.
Avoid over-idling on the hose.
Somethings not right. Most smaller 2 strokes should be around 5500-6000 rpm at WOT .
No, its not the record holder. This pic was shot during the Rouen endurance race a few years back - before the yammie 70 was outlawed.

Who's record is that ?
Then you'd be close to Rowan's P750 UIM record. That would be quite a feat.
What's boat is it and current setup & speed ?
Don't think that hull needs much setback and trim. I'd remove the CNC & then try a cleaver.
Fast Fred is the man.
Choppers are not surfacing props so I'd get my hands on a cleaver like a 10 x 14ish for starters. What max speed & rpm did u reach? Show us some boat & setup pics.
You previously mentioned 325 kgs without crew.
Hers a pic of a s850 circuit cat.
You should try a smaller cleaver like 13x20 for comparison.
But I ran the prop slip calc & the 2.42 gearcase has to...
Actually those wedges are still common in the smaller circuit cats so I wouldn't touch those yet. 325kgs is heavy for a 15' but as mentionned give us some setup info 1st.
Already answered that, hence this thread...
In France, very unlikely...
If there are no ModV plans out there, then it should be easier to start with 18-19' full tunnel plans & add a centre pod.
Maybe the wood boat building experts out there can give some pointers on...
Found this beauty on SnF
Do you have pics by any chance ?
Actually I was toying with the idea of building my own full tunnel cat. Then I figured why not build a modv as it would carry weight better & be more stable at speed.
Found some full tunnel wood boat plans on the internet but couldn't find Mod VP ones.
Any tips ?
There is no "proper" height as long as there's no water starvation. If you want to go faster try a cleaver. What's your current speed at WOT ?
Definitely a good find. Here's a link to the tech manual:

It's in French but as a Canuck you should do Ok.
Both short & long were available. What boat will you pair with the 50 ?
Yes, in Europe the 850cc block was used on the 50G (62F), 60F(6H2) & 70B(6H3).
Most of the speed records in your category were done with semi-cleavers, so I'd try a 10ish x16 & take it from there.
Wonder how much HP they actually had...
Well, it did in at least once in 1992 - 101.93MPH - UIM record. Since the motor is no longer legal in European/World class races like Rouen, there's probably good deals to be made.
How much is a 525efi Merc ?
Well considering the UIM record for that motor is 102.5mph there probably lots to be done...
Is the torpedo level with sponson bottom ?
First for cooling I'd go with a nose cone but if the motor is still too high, consider a small manual jackplate.

Phil
So like will 3% oil be slower than 2.5% at a given rpm ?
The 90 (&70hp) Yammies are very popular in Europe. They hold alot of inshore & offshore UIM records. The smaller american 3cyl race motors were hard to find so the 3cyl Yammies were the thing along...
What is boat length ?
Inshore race boat gears are close to 1:1, they use smaller diameter/pitch props because of light boats/loads. As loads increase so does gear ratio & prop diameter/pitch. So if you just want speed...
